¿Que es el amor? Es recibir sesenta abrazos de sesenta abuelas y abuelos. Incluso mejor, es verlos abrazar a los muchachos de Miqueas, y ver a nuestros chicos disfrutar de la alegría pura de cada abrazo. Es escucharles decir que oran por nosotros todos los días y saben que sus muchos años los han convertido en poderosos oradores. Es tener una hermosa dama con los años grabados en su rostro, y escucharle decir a través de las lágrimas que no quería irse a casa porque esta fue la tarde más feliz que ha tenido en mucho tiempo. El amor es compartir una comida con nuestros vecinos mayores y darse cuenta de como este momento imita al gran Banquete Celestial que un día celebraremos juntos. ¿Que es el amor? Dios es amor, y Dios estaba presente hoy en cada una de las horas que pasamos con estas personas preciosas. Y estoy bastante seguro de que Él estaba en todas estas sonrisas ...
What is love? It is getting sixty hugs from sixty grandmas and grandpas. Even better, it is watching them hug the Micah boys, and watching our boys bask in the pure joy of each embrace. It is listening to them say that they pray for us every single day and knowing that their many years have turned them into powerful pray-ers. It is having a beautiful, wizened lady with the years etched in her face say through tears that she didn't want to go home because this was the happiest afternoon she has had in a long time. Love is sharing a meal with our elderly neighbors and realizing how closely this moment imitates the promised heavenly banquet that we will one day celebrate together. What is love? God is love, and God was present today in the hours spent with these precious people. And I'm pretty sure that He was all smiles...
