The season of Lent draws near. Join us as we enter the season on Ash Wednesday here in Kowloon Union Church. Together, let us prepare for the forty days of Lent in a time of contemplation, song, and prayer.
Worship will include the imposition of Ashes.

Starting on Sunday, 4 February, our new Bible Study series in KUC. 'Discipleship: Then and Now'
Throughout this centenary year, we will learn about the lives and character of the disciples of the Lord and those who followed the examples they left us.
We will meet after Sunday worship and share a light lunch before the study begins. Please scan the QR code and register to participate.

Kowloon Union Church is recruiting a part-time Caretaker

Duties:
-Clean the church sanctuary, fellowship hall, meeting rooms, offices, toilets, gardens, kitchens etc
-Maintain housekeeping supplies
-Tidy up

Working hours:
32 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: $11,000 month

Location: Jordan

Skills: Relevant work experience and bilingual (Chinese/English) would be advantages.

Recruitment of Social Ministry Worker

Kowloon Union Church (KUC) is recruiting a full-time Social Ministry Worker to coordinate and be responsible for the Peacemaking and Refugee Ministry.

Job Description

The focus of this position is on pastoral care and empowerment of the refugee and asylum seeker community, as well as community outreach of the Peacemaking Ministry.

This work includes to:
- Prepare and lead the fellowship, as well as, to coordinate trainings for the refugees and asylum seekers
- Conduct home visitations and individual pastoral care
- Liaise with churches and organizations for public education
- Prepare the Peacemaking team/ambassadors for sharing
- Coordinate programs that enhance the participation of this community in the church
- Solicit external support for the refugees and asylum seekers
- Act as liaison with media, organizations and other churches
- Handle administrative tasks such as preparing monthly financial statements, funding applications and reports
- Co-ordinate and execute fundraising plan with a fundraising task force

Qualifications

We seek a candidate with these qualities:

1. Theological training (e.g. has a divinity degree)
2. Fluency in English and Chinese
3. Experience working with underprivileged communities in a multicultural and multilingual environment
4. Sensitivity to different cultures and religious beliefs
5. Of mature character, independent and with good communication skills
6. Working experience is an advantage

Work Hours
40 hours 5 days per week
