This Sunday at 9.30am at St Peter’s Seafarers’ Church we gather for the Fifth Sunday of Easter, hearing Jesus’ words from John 14: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” In a world that can often feel uncertain or unsettled, these words offer both direction and reassurance.

For those whose lives are spent at sea, the idea of finding the right course is not just a metaphor but a daily reality. Many seafarers continue to navigate challenging conditions, long distances from home, and the pressures of an unpredictable world. In the midst of all this, Christ’s promise is not simply about a destination, but about a presence that guides, steadies, and holds fast.

As we gather at the altar, we pray for all who are at sea, for their safety, their wellbeing, and for those who wait for them ashore. We also pray for ourselves, that we may learn to trust more deeply in the One who leads us forward, even when the way is not clear.

You are warmly invited to join us in worship, prayer, and fellowship. All are welcome.

This Sunday at 9.30am at St Peter’s Seafarers’ Church we mark Good Shepherd Sunday - a reminder that Christ is not distant, but present, guiding and guarding his people, especially in times of uncertainty.

As tensions continue in the Gulf, many seafarers are facing real anxiety, disruption, and risk in their daily lives. The image of the Good Shepherd speaks directly into this reality: a call to trust, to perseverance, and to care for those who find themselves in harm’s way.

Join us as we pray for seafarers, for peace, and for the steady presence of Christ in troubled waters. All are welcome.

Easter is not over. The fifty-day Easter Season continues, inviting us to live more deeply into the reality of the resurrection. Flowing from Holy Week, this is a time not just to remember, but to experience the transforming power of new life in Christ. In this Sunday’s Gospel (John 20:19–31), the risen Jesus meets his disciples in their doubt and fear, offering peace and renewed faith.

Join us at St Peter’s Seafarers’ Church at 9.30am for our Eucharist as we gather to worship and be strengthened in that same assurance of resurrection life.

This joyful Eastertide,
away with sin and sorrow!
My Love, the Crucified,
has sprung to life
this morrow:
Had Christ, who
once was slain,
not burst His
three-day prison,
our faith had been in vain;
but now has Christ arisen,
arisen, arisen;
but now has Christ arisen!

Am I a stone, and not a sheep,
That I can stand, O Christ, beneath Thy cross,
To number drop by drop Thy blood’s slow loss,
And yet not weep?

Not so those women loved
Who with exceeding grief lamented Thee;
Not so fallen Peter, weeping bitterly;
Not so the thief was moved;

Not so the Sun and Moon
Which hid their faces in a starless sky,
A horror of great darkness at broad noon –
I, only I.

Yet give not o’er,
But seek Thy sheep, true Shepherd of the flock;
Greater than Moses, turn and look once more
And smite a rock.

The Garden Door

The table is cleared,
the basin is dry,
The intimate supper
has passed,
Under a cold
and questioning sky,
The shadows of night
now are cast.
Stay with me,
watch and pray.

The hands that were broken and shared as bread,
Now tremble in anguish alone,
With all of the weight
of the world on his head,
He kneels on
the unforgiving stone.
Stay with me,
watch and pray.

He asked for a moment,
an hour of grace,
But the eyelids
of friends grew heavy,
While he looks
at the dark in the face,
In the quiet of lonely Gethsemane.
Stay with me,
watch and pray.

O Lord, in the quiet
of this late hour,
When the noisy world
is asleep,
Let me feel the depth
of your saving power,
And the watch of love
let me keep.
Stay with me,
watch and pray.

Join us this Sunday from 9.30am at St. Peter’s Seafarers’ Church at The Mariners as we celebrate Palm Sunday and begin the journey of Holy Week — the week that changed the world.
From the joy of Jesus’ welcome into Jerusalem to the events that lead to the cross and beyond, this is a story not just to remember, but to enter.
In a world marked by uncertainty and conflict, we gather to reflect, to pray, and to ask a simple but challenging question: not only does this week change the world — does it change us?
All are welcome.

Join us this Sunday at 9.30am at St. Peter’s Seafarers’ Church as we mark the Fifth Sunday of Lent and the beginning of Passiontide. As we turn towards the events of Holy Week, we reflect on the hope that Christ brings even in the face of death and despair. Whether you are a regular worshipper or simply curious, you are warmly welcome to come and be part of a growing community of faith, prayer, and fellowship.

For many centuries in the Anglican Church, the Fourth Sunday of Lent has been observed as Mothering Sunday. In earlier times this day was associated with giving thanks for the Church, sometimes called our “Mother Church”. The tradition is often linked with a passage from St Paul’s Letter to the Galatians which was historically read as the Epistle for this Sunday, where Paul speaks of “the Jerusalem above… the mother of us all” (Galatians 4:26). On this day, therefore, we give thanks to God who gives us new birth in Christ, and for the Church which, like a mother, nurtures us in the life of the Spirit. We also give thanks for our own mothers, living and departed, and for all who show us the care, love, and compassion that reflect the gift of mothering in our lives.
Join us this Sunday at 9.30am for our Celebration of the Holy Eucharist and Special Prayers for our mothers. All are welcome!
