📖 Day 9- Novena to the Holy Souls in Purgatory

*Dear Lord, we trust in Your infinite goodness. We praise Your justice and implore Your mercy upon all the holy souls who are suffering in Purgatory as they await their eternal Heavenly rest with You.

Every person is precious to You, and You long to bring each of us to Heaven with You. But many people leave this world without any friends or family members to pray for their souls. These poor souls must wait on Your mercy and our prayers as they suffer in Purgatory.

We ask You to bring all the holy souls in Purgatory into eternal Heavenly rest with You, especially the souls who have no one to pray for them!

Help us grow in virtue and charity, out of love for You. Help us to become closer to You and stronger in the desire to imitate You each day.

We especially ask in this novena _(mention your intentions here)_.*

Lord, hear our prayers!

🙏 My God! How was it possible that I, for so many years, have borne tranquilly the separation from You and Your holy grace! O infinite Goodness, how long-suffering have You shown Yourself to me! Henceforth, I shall love You above all things. I am deeply sorry for having offended You; I promise rather to die than to again offend You. Grant me the grace of holy perseverance, and do not permit that I should ever again fall into sin. Have compassion on the holy souls in Purgatory. I pray to You, moderate their sufferings; shorten the time of their misery; call them soon to You in heaven, that they may behold You face to face, and forever love You. Mary, Mother of Mercy, come to their aid with your powerful intercession, and pray for us also who are still in danger of eternal damnation.

*Dear Lord, we trust in Your infinite goodness. We praise Your justice and implore Your mercy upon all the holy souls who are suffering in Purgatory as they await their eternal Heavenly rest with You.

In our fallen world, many of us make poor decisions and fall away from You at times. You, who are Goodness itself, are able to bring good out of every situation. In Your mercy, You are able to bring even those who have made many grievous mistakes during their lives into Heaven with You after they seek Your forgiveness.

We ask You to bring all the holy souls in Purgatory into eternal Heavenly rest with You, especially the souls of all who were filled with regrets over their lives when they died!

Help us to live each day in true unity with You. Help us to grow in love for You and in the desire to please You in our lives.

We especially ask in this novena _(mention your intentions here)_.*

Lord, hear our prayers!

🙏 Oh my God! I also am one of these ungrateful beings, having received so much grace, and yet despised Your love and deserved to be cast by You into hell. You give each of us many opportunities throughout our lives to prepare to meet You at our last judgment. It must please You when we make good use of these opportunities, when we work to grow in holiness and in imitation of You.

We ask You to bring all the holy souls in Purgatory into eternal Heavenly rest with You, especially the souls of all who died happy to be able to find their rest with You!

Help us to make growth in holiness and virtue a true priority in our lives. Help us to make use of every opportunity You give us to prepare for our final judgment.

🙏 My Divine Redeemer, You died for me on the Cross, and have so often united Yourself with me in Holy Communion, and I have repaid You only with ingratitude. Now, however, I love You above all things, O supreme God; and I am more grieved at my offences against You than at any other evil. I will rather die than offend You again. Grant me the grace of holy perseverance. Have compassion on me, and, at the same time, on the holy souls suffering in Purgatory. Mary, Mother of God, come to their aid with your powerful intercession.

Many holy men and women have chosen to devote their lives to You in a religious order. Many of them lived out their vocations well and served You with devotion. But religious are also flawed human beings, and many deceased religious are still suffering in Purgatory as they await entrance into Heaven.

We ask You to bring all the holy souls in Purgatory into eternal Heavenly rest with You, especially the souls of all who returned to You in the last moments of their earthly lives!

Help us to trust in Your mercy and goodness each day. Help us to grow in true devotion to You in our lives.

🙏 My God, because You are infinite goodness, I am sorry with my whole heart for having offended You. I promise to die rather than ever offend You more. Give me holy perseverance; have pity on me, and have pity on those holy souls that burn in the cleansing fire and love You with all their hearts. O Mary, Mother of God, assist them by Your powerful prayers.
