AN INVITATION

Why this invitation? BASILEIA has somehow 'hit your radar' perhaps through a friend who was a participant of our first BASILEIA Spiritual Formation programme, an information dinner, through your church or directly through Rob Penner or myself. We want to follow up on whatever stirring this has evoked in you.

So, please accept this as a warm invitation to a brief (and free!) information lunch on Tuesday, August 28th, 12:30PM at Community Church Hong Kong in Shueng Wan. The lunch will last an hour and it will introduce you to BASILEIA's new 2018-19 fall programme which will begin this October. Our intent is to sImply give you an opportunity to consider what we believe is a unique approach to helping realize 'Christ formed in you' (Gal 4.19).

If you know of a friend or someone who is a part of your congregation that you think might benefit from the Basileia curriculum and experience please forward this to them. Interested in finding out more about Basileia?
Basileia is an innovative approach to Christian discipleship/Christian formation that’s been designed for ordinary Christians working and living in Hong Kong. Our approach is integrative: weaving Biblical study and discussion, contemporary film, literature—ancient and new, honest friendships centered around a meal and discussion and personal and community prayer and worship—‘the habits of the heart.’

Basiliea is for those who are seeking to more deeply integrate the Biblical story with their own story, their knowledge of God with knowledge of themselves, their reason with their imagination and their personal faith with their public lives and work. We believe that through the Basileia experience, you will also cultivate deep friendships so essential for our life of faith and you will appropriate those historic practices of prayer, reading and devotion, alone and with others. So, if you find yourself in a place on your spiritual journey in which perhaps you need fresh water and bread and a place to recover and reimagine your life of faith, Basileia may be of substantial help and encouragement.
