【香港浸會大學70周年校慶日感恩崇拜】
校牧處於3月17日於大學禮拜堂舉行70周年校慶日感恩崇拜,浸大同仁包括校董會及諮議會成員、教職員、同學、校友及捐獻支持者一起出席,慶祝這個別具意義的里程碑,並為上帝對浸大從不變改的引領和供應獻上感恩。
郭鍾寶芬慈善基金代表、香港浸會大學基金董事局成員及永遠榮譽主席、諮議會榮譽委員郭家聲院士擔任嘉賓講員,見證神在其生命歷程中的信實,這對現今活於科技急速發展、難以預測的世界中至關重要。
浸大校長衞炳江教授致辭,衷心感謝郭院士的信息及郭氏家族對浸大慷慨的支持,包括捐贈兩幅馬賽克壁畫「生命樹」和「耶穌為門徒洗腳」,並代表浸大致送一幅手繪郭鍾寶芬女士康體文娛中心的畫作予郭院士。他強調在不確定的時代中以信念保持堅穩的重要性,以及教育在培育真正全人價值之關鍵角色。
校董會暨諮議會主席黃英豪博士宣讀大學使命,諮議會榮譽委員黃幸怡女士於崇拜中讀經。校牧處轄下的學生音樂團隊包括基督徒樂隊、基督徒詩班及普通話合唱團,透過讚美歌聲歸榮耀予神。崇拜最後由著名管風琴家及浸大長期支持者黃孔慶怡女士以美妙殿樂結束。
【HKBU 70th Anniversary Founders’ Day Thanksgiving Service】
The Chaplain’s Office held the 70th Anniversary Founders’ Day Thanksgiving Service at the University Chapel on 17 March. The University community, including the Council and the Court Members, faculty and staff, students, alumni, donors and supporters gathered to celebrate this meaningful milestone and thank God for His steadfast provision and guidance all along the University’s journey.
The guest speaker was Mr Raymond K S Kwok, representative of the Kwok Chung Bo Fun Charitable Fund, Member of the Board of Governors and Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation, Honorary Court Member and Honorary Fellow, testified the faithfulness of God on his life path, and the faith is crucial to everyone living in an unpredictable world undergoing rapid technological development.
Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, presented a hand painting of Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun Sports and Cultural Centre as a gift to the guest speaker on behalf of the University, and expressed heartfelt thanks for his message and the Kwok family’s generous support to the University including donation of the two Christian mosaic murals ‘Tree of Life’ and ‘Jesus Washing His disciples’ Feet’. He also emphasised the importance of remaining grounded in beliefs during uncertain times and the pivotal role of education in nurturing human values that truly shape well-rounded individuals.
Dr Kennedy Y H Wong, Chairman of the Council and the Court, read the University's mission statement, and Ms Sandy H Y Wong, the Honorary Court Member, read the holy scripture during the service. Student music groups under the Chaplain’s Office, including the Christian Band, Christian Choir and Mainland-student Choir, sang their praises to glorify the Lord. The event ended with a beautiful postlude played by Mrs Elizabeth Hung Wong, the renowned organist and dedicated supporter of the University, as a perfect resonation.
