Consistent Daily Bible Reading

Consistent Daily Bible Reading Keeping a consistent daily Bible reading is something most Christians struggle with from time to time I forget or I get distracted. I don't know where to start.
(1)

Maybe you get so caught up in day-to-day life that you simply forget to read your Bible or you tell yourself that you’ll get around to it “later,” but then you never do. I never get anything out of it. Reading makes me sleepy. If that sounds all too familiar, you’re definitely not alone. Keeping a consistent daily Bible reading is something most Christians struggle with from time to time. Many peo

ple see more verses of scripture on Facebook memes than in their Bible. And to them, Facebook replaces the Bible. We can google a Bible verse, or blog about a verse, any time we want. So why read what's around it? Many find time for Facebook, Instagram, movies, drama, seminars, Bible related products, even for reading Christian websites/ blogs while your Bible sits forgotten on the shelf. With accessibility to scripture climbing by the day, why is faith and Bible engagement declining? Our vision is to remind believers in Keeping a consistent daily Bible reading.

Jacob was excited at the beginning of the journey, he was going to see his beloved son Joseph whom he had thought dead..

Along the journey, fear began to grip his heart - probably

- Could this possibly be the beginning of that 400 years or

- Risk of leaving the Promised Land (Canaan), or fear of dying in a foreign land, and the potential danger to his family... But God intervenes
Genesis 46: 1-5

So ISRAEL made his journey with all that he had and came to Beersheba [a place hallowed by sacred memories] and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
2. And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night, and said, Jacob! Jacob! And he said, Here am I.

3. And He said, I am God, the God of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will there make of you a great nation.

4. I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you [your people Israel] up again; and Joseph will put his hand upon your eyes [when they are about to close in death].

5. So Jacob arose and set out from Beersheba, and Israel's sons conveyed their father, their little ones, and their wives in the wagons that Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

Excitement and eager anticipation often help us to get up strength for a new venture but when fear sets in......

The Annunciation: An angel (Gabriel) tells Mary in Nazareth she will conceive and bear God's son, he will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Joseph, her fiancé, is also visited by an angel in a dream, confirming the divine conception and telling him to name the child Jesus, who will save his people.

The Journey to Bethlehem: Due to a decree from Caesar Augustus for a census, Mary and Joseph travel from Nazareth to Bethlehem, Joseph's ancestral town.

The Birth: Because inns are full, Mary gives birth to Jesus in a stable, placing him in a manger a feeding trough for animals

An enemy has done this

God is the master planner, He perfectly orchestrates events

Devil is a copycat!

It takes divine revelation, discernment to discover and detect: An enemy has done this

Come, let us return, lest my father cease caring about the donkeys and become worried about us. 1 Samuel 9:5

One of the confirming signs Samuel gave Saul was that the lost donkeys had been found and that his father had indeed stopped worrying about the animals and was anxious about his son's safety instead.

This demonstrates Saul's understanding of his father's heart.

Is no longer about the donkeys, task, assignment...

The Father is worried about you

your well being, making it back home, not been lost while searching for donkeys....

When God told Samuel, "About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin," He had already started the process.

Saul and his servant were in the general territory of the tribe of Benjamin, having already passed through the hill country of Ephraim and the land of Shalishah and Shaalim,

From the hill country of Ephraim through the land of Shalisha to the borders of Shaalim was approximately 16 miles, with another 16 miles from there to the land of Benjamin, according to one interpretation.

Hold on, God has already started the process.

Grateful to be on the journey with you ✍️

1 Samuel 9:16 Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be leader over My people Israel; and he shall save them out of the hand of the Philistines. For I have looked upon the distress of My people, because their cry has come to Me

The precise timing of Saul's journey, the directions given by the young women, and Samuel's arrival all illustrate how God perfectly orchestrates events to accomplish His will

It was no coincidence that the family donkeys herd got lost.

It was no coincidence that Kish asked his son Saul to go and search

It was no coincidence that Saul took with him one young man who would uniquely figure into the course of Saul’s journey

It was no coincidence that they could not find the donkeys in Ephraim, or Shalishah, or Shaalim, or anywhere in the land of Benjamin.

All of it was simply the divinely orchestrated fulfillment of these words: Tomorrow about this time I will send to you a man from the land of Benjamin

Grateful to be on the journey with you ✍️

Balak Summons Balaam

Bible Reading: Numbers 22: 1 to 20

Then the Israelites traveled to the plains of Moab and camped along the Jordan across from Jericho.

2 Now Balak son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites, 3 and Moab was terrified because there were so many people. Indeed, Moab was filled with dread because of the Israelites.

4 The Moabites said to the elders of Midian, “This horde is going to lick up everything around us, as an ox licks up the grass of the field.”

So Balak son of Zippor, who was king of Moab at that time, 5 sent messengers to summon Balaam son of Beor, who was at Pethor, near the Euphrates River, in his native land. Balak said:

“A people has come out of Egypt; they cover the face of the land and have settled next to me. 6 Now come and put a curse on these people, because they are too powerful for me. Perhaps then I will be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land. For I know that whoever you bless is blessed, and whoever you curse is cursed.”

7 The elders of Moab and Midian left, taking with them the fee for divination. When they came to Balaam, they told him what Balak had said.

8 “Spend the night here,” Balaam said to them, “and I will report back to you with the answer the Lord gives me.” So the Moabite officials stayed with him.

9 God came to Balaam and asked, “Who are these men with you?”

10 Balaam said to God, “Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab, sent me this message: 11 ‘A people that has come out of Egypt covers the face of the land. Now come and put a curse on them for me. Perhaps then I will be able to fight them and drive them away.’”

12 But God said to Balaam, “Do not go with them. You must not put a curse on those people, because they are blessed.”

13 The next morning Balaam got up and said to Balak’s officials, “Go back to your own country, for the Lord has refused to let me go with you.”

14 So the Moabite officials returned to Balak and said, “Balaam refused to come with us.”

Lessons From Blind Bartimaeus

Persistent Faith:

Bartimaeus was persistent in his desire for Jesus, crying out to Him despite being silenced by others.

Overcoming Obstacles:

He refused to let the crowd or his blindness stop him from pursuing Jesus

Bold Action:

Bartimaeus demonstrated his belief by throwing aside his cloak, and jumping up to meet Jesus.

Speak Your Needs to God:

Jesus asked Bartimaeus what he wanted, showing that we should be specific in our prayers and voice our faith to God.

Focus on God, Not the Crowd:

Bartimaeus understood that Jesus's attention mattered more than anyone else's. He ignored the negative voices of the crowd to focus on his encounter with Jesus.

Gratitude in Action:

When he received his sight, Bartimaeus immediately praised God and then began to follow Jesus showing that true transformation leads to discipleship.

Blind Bartimaeus

50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.

The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”

52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road

Blind Bartimaeus

48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”

So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.”

Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sight

Bible Reading: Mark 10:46-52

46 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging

47. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Bible Reading: Luke 18:10-14

10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.

12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’

13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted
