oday’s Christians think they have the market cornered on infighting, this verse reminds us that the early Christians struggled with many of the same things as we do today. The human desire to follow people and their ideas and views instead of banding together in the following of Christ is not new to the Christian church; Paul had to warn the Christians of Corinth of the very same pit fall. We all need to take Paul’s sage advice and stop acting like those who aren’t Christians and to start acting like followers of Christ. Instead of looking at our differences, we should focus on Jesus. By putting our focus exactly where it should be—on Christ—we would find that many of our disagreements would fade away, that love would replace conflict and peace would replace war; we would lose sight of selfishness and we would find Christ.
