*5TH JANUARY, 2025*

*LORD'S SUPPER SUNDAY*

*SERMON BY: PS JOHN HAGAN ( FROM LIBERIA)*

*SERMON TITLE: Ignore and Move On*

*TEXT: 1 Samuel 10:27*

*KEY MESSAGES*
* *Silence in the Face of Criticism*
1.When you allow yourself to be used by God, there may come a time when you must remain silent in the face of opposition.
*2.God’s Sovereignty vs. Human Desire*
Although God was the King of His chosen people, they demanded their own earthly king, reflecting human tendencies to prioritize personal desires over divine plans. Move on and ignore personal desire
*3.Overcoming Doubts*: Just as Paul was underestimated by many, people may doubt your ability to achieve results, but stay focused and press forward.
*4.Despise and Ignore:* People will despise and criticize you, but the best response is to ignore them and move forward.
*5.Avoid Distractions:* Distractions can hinder progress. Do not let the challenges or negative experiences of 2024, such as anger, bitterness, hatred, or gossip, etc. carry over into 2025.
*6.Focus and Let Go*: To move ahead, you must turn a blind eye to certain things and concentrate on your goals. Ignore unnecessary conflicts and distractions.
*7.Prepare for Challenges*: In 2025, there will be those who attempt to disrupt your plans. However, trust in God’s mercies, which will guide and sustain you.
*9.Selective Companionship:* Not everyone is meant to accompany you on your journey in 2015. Adjust your relationships accordingly and move on
*9.God’s Leadership*: Let God lead every aspect of your life as you step into the new year.
*10.Saul’s Example*: Saul could have retaliated against his critics, but he chose to overlook their actions and focus on his calling. Follow this example.
*11.Quality Over Quantity*: You don’t need a multitude to accomplish God’s work or carry out the duties of God. Stay committed to your mission and ignore unnecessary distractions
*12.Endure Pushbacks*: In 2025, when people try to push or provoke you, remain steadfast and unmoved.
*13.God’s Purpose in Relationships*: God may allow certain individuals to enter your life to shape and refine you. When faced with challenges from such people, resist the urge to retaliate.
*14.Wisdom and Insight*: Walk in the wisdom and insight of God in the coming year.
*15.Spiritual Focus*: Fix your focus on the spiritual rather than the physical. Trust in God’s eternal plan and refuse to be swayed by earthly distractions.
*16.God as Your Anchor:* Let God be the anchor/ foundation of every decision you make, ensuring that nothing on earth can shake you.
*17.Banner of God:* Allow God to guide your every step. Trust that Jesus will direct your path and bring you victory in all situations.
*18.Purposeful Living:* Pursue and accomplish the divine purposes set before you with determination. Ignore the naysayers and stay on track.
*Victory Through Mercy:* May God’s mercy sustain you and grant you victory in every area of your life in 2025.

*In conclusion*
As we step into 2025, let us choose to ignore distractions, critics, and negativity that seek to derail us. Focus on God’s purpose for your life, walking with wisdom, and trusting in His guidance. Remember, not everyone is meant to be part of your journey; stay anchored in God and remain steadfast. With His mercy, you will overcome every challenge and accomplish your divine assignment. Amen!

SERMON TITLE: Jesus Christ, Light That Transforms the World
Main Scripture: John 8:12 ; “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Introduction
Praise God, beloved in Christ. I bring you warm greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is a great joy and privilege to gather here today as we celebrate the birth of Christ in this festive season, a season filled with hope, love, and the light of God shining brightly in our lives.
▪︎Our focus today is to reflect on the significance of Christ’s birth and how His coming into the world empowers us to transform not only our lives but the lives of others as well.
▪︎Christ, the Light of the World, dispels the darkness and calls us to shine His light wherever we go.
▪︎This Christmas season reminds us of the greatest gift ever given to humanity: the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior.
▪︎He came into a world shrouded in darkness to bring salvation and hope. His birth marks the beginning of God’s transformative plan for humanity, a plan that calls us, as His people, to be agents of change and transformation in our world.
▪︎Let us journey together through God’s Word and discover how Christ's birth empowers us to make a lasting impact in our generation.

As we prepare to enter 2024, I want us to keep the following in mind...
1. Christ is the Light That Dispels Darkness
▪︎Darkness Represents: Sin, confusion, despair, and separation from God.
Isaiah 9:2 “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light.”
On those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned .
• When Christ enters our lives, the darkness of sin is dispelled, much like the rising sun chases away the night.
• He brings forgiveness, renews our purpose, and directs us on the path of righteousness.
• The birth of Jesus was not just a historical event; it was the beginning of humanity’s transformation.
• Through Him, we are no longer bound by the darkness of fear, guilt, or condemnation. Instead, we are empowered to live as children of light, spreading His love and grace to others.
• This transformative power is evident in how Christ has changed our lives.
• Now, as His followers, we are called to reflect His light and be instruments of transformation in the world, sharing the joy and peace that only He can bring.
2. Christ is the Light That Guides Our Path
▪︎Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
• Jesus provides us with guidance for daily living, helping us make righteous choices.
• In this season, let us rededicate ourselves to walking in His light.
• Psalm 119:105 reminds us that God’s Word, embodied in Jesus Christ, is the ultimate source of guidance and clarity for our lives.
• Just as a lamp illuminates a path in the darkness, Christ’s teachings and presence light up the way we should go, ensuring we do not stumble or lose our way.
• His instructions help us make choices that align with God’s will, leading to righteousness, peace, and purpose.
• In this Christmas season, as we reflect on His birth, it is a perfect time to rededicate ourselves to walking in His light.
• This means committing to living by His Word, allowing Him to guide our steps, and shining His light through our actions so that others may also find their way to Him.
3. Christ, the Light That Brings Joy and Hope
▪︎Luke 2:10-11: The angel announced, “I bring you good news of great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you.”
• The birth of Christ brought hope to a weary world, and His light continues to shine in our darkest moments.
• The announcement in Luke 2:10-11 reveals the profound joy and hope that Christ’s birth brought to humanity.
• The angel’s message was not just for the shepherds but for all people, a weary world burdened by sin, longing for redemption.
• The arrival of Jesus, the Savior, marked the fulfillment of God’s promise to bring salvation and restoration to His people.
• Christ’s light continues to shine in our darkest moments, offering hope when we feel lost, peace in times of turmoil, and joy amid life’s challenges.
• His presence assures us that we are not alone, and His victory over sin and death gives us confidence in a future filled with eternal life.
• This Christmas, as we celebrate His birth, we are reminded that the joy and hope He brings are not seasonal but everlasting.
• Let us embrace His light, allowing it to dispel despair and fill our hearts with the assurance of His love and promises.

4. We Are Called to Reflect His Light
Matthew 5:14-16:
14 "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
• As followers of Christ, we are to shine His light by sharing His love, kindness, and truth during this season and beyond.
• Jesus is calling us to be the light of the world, a light that reflects His own light and love.
• As followers of Christ, we are called to shine His light in our daily lives, not only by our words but by our actions.
• This means sharing His love with others, being kind, and living out the truth He has taught us.
• In this season and beyond, we are reminded to be His representatives in a dark world.
• One way we reflect Christ’s light is by helping those in need. Whether through financial support, time, or emotional care, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who are struggling.
• Another way is by forgiving others, just as Christ has forgiven us. Forgiveness brings healing and demonstrates the power of Christ’s love in our lives.
• Finally, we can be a source of encouragement, offering hope and strength to those who are weary or facing difficulties.
• By living out these principles, we not only reflect Christ’s light but also invite others to experience the transformative power of His love.
In this festive season, let us:
• Acknowledge Christ as the center of our celebrations.
• Live as His Light in our families, workplaces, and communities.
• Share the Gospel of hope and salvation with others.
Conclusion
▪︎As we prepare to step into the new year, I challenge you to walk boldly in His light and let it shine through you in every sphere of your life.
▪︎Be intentional about sharing His love, kindness, and truth with the world around you, becoming a beacon of transformation in your family, community, and beyond.
▪︎May His light shine in every heart here today and illuminate every step we take.
▪︎May it guide us, empower us, and inspire us to be agents of His transformative work in the world. Amen.
