Zechariah 9:9
Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion;
Shout, O Daughter of Jerusalem: behold thy King comes unto thee: He is just, and having salvation: lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a c**t the goal of an ass.
Many years before His birth, the Prophet Zechariah saw and prophecied about the Palm Sunday or the Triumphant Entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. His prophecy was so direct to even mention the type of animal Jesus will use for the entry into Jerusalem and how Jerusalem (The Church) should rejoice in the days of the Triumphant Entry. That is to tell us that:
1. Palm Sunday is not just an event we celebrate but a prophetic fulfilment.
2. Palm Sunday is a time to reminisce on the work of Grace in it's perfection.
3. Palm Sunday is the time to offer our highest praise to God for giving us grace in His sight.
In this season of covid-19 and lockdown, Palm Sunday should not be underplayed or demeaned under any circumstances but should be hallowed and celebrated in it's perfection.
I pray that as we learn to take spiritual occasions serious, the LORD will have mercy on us and grant us favour to excel in all endeavors in Jesus name!
Nothing must change our determination to serve our God on occasions like this!
