A feast on God’s Word
In this era of knowledge, there is the danger of getting lost in the midst of information overload. As believers, we are are admonished to crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it we may grow in our salvation (1Peter 2:2).
The inspired Word of God as written in the Holy Scriptures is greatest legacy of the Christian Faith (2Timothy 3:16-17). The believer is therefore charged to study the Word so as to be able to rightly divide its truth(2Timothy 2:25). Yet this Word has been subjected to all kinds of misinterpretations and schools of thought, sometimes leaving some believers confused. Many are loosing their faith in the name of common sense and people are perishing.
There is no room for laziness in our Christian walk. There is the part that requires us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). The kingdom of God is not about meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Romans 14:17). Reading, studying, meditating and sharing the Word requires our devotion. The systems of the world have become fast-paced and we get caught up in them, thereby not making time to invest in that which has eternal dividends.
