PCG Trinity Congregation, Sunyani Demonstrates Christ’s Love Through Lenten Outreach
As part of activities marking the Lenten season, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Trinity Congregation, Tonsuom Estate, Sunyani, paid a benevolent visit to the Love Is Compassion Orphanage on Saturday, 4th April 2026. The outreach brought together the leadership and members of the congregation in a shared act of Christian love and service.
Addressing the gathering during the visit, the Minister-in-Charge, Rev. Benjamin Kwasi Ampofo, explained the three key pillars of Lent—Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving. He emphasized that the donation was a practical expression of these spiritual disciplines, particularly almsgiving, aimed at supporting the welfare and wellbeing of the children at the orphanage.
During the visit, the congregation made a donation comprising both items and cash support. The total value of the donated items amounted to GHC 8,000.00, and these included drinks, toiletries, soap, rice, cooking oil, sachet water, and other essential householAdditionally In addition, a cash donation of GHC 1,500.00 was preseorphanage's managementhe orphanage to assist in meeting their ongoing needs.
The management of the Love Is Compassion Orphanage received the items with deep gratitude and expressed heartfelt appreciation to the church for the timely and generous support, noting the positive impact the donation would have on the lives of the children.
The delegation included notable personalities such as Rev. Benjamin Kwasi Ampofo, Sunyani District Minister; Rev. Mrs. Theresah Ansu (Retired); Mad. Nancy Arthur, Senior Presbytery Member and Presbytery Lay Representative to the General Assembly Council (GAC); Mr. Nelson Benneh, Caretaker; Mr. Stephen Obeng, Treasurer; Mrs. Sarah Agypong, together with other members of the Session and congregation.
The visit was brought to a solemn close by Rev. Mrs. Theresah Ansu, who offered prayers for the children, caregivers, and the continued sustenance and growth of the orphanage. The outreach reaffirmed the Trinity Congregation’s commitment to living out the values of compassion, generosity, and service, especially during the Lenten season.
