🇬🇭 JUST IN: Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak has suspended all active firearm licences in Ghana with immediate effect.
All firearm licence holders will now be required to undergo fresh mental health assessments, drug tests, and practical fi****ms handling training before their licences can be renewed.
This is a commendable move by the Minister, and it could help reduce the increasing number of shooting incidents in the country.
However, stricter regulations should also be added to the licensing process, including periodic background checks, mandatory refresher training, and tougher penalties for the misuse of fi****ms.
