The Maiden MPWD Christmas Convention for the Salaga Area of The Church of Pentecost was successfully held from Thursday, December 4 to 6, 2025, under the theme “UNLEASHED TO LIVE A LIFE WORTHY OF YOUR CALLING” (Ephesians 4:1, Galatians 1:24, 1 Thessalonians 4:7) at the Agape International School Complex in Salaga, Savannah Region.
This inaugural event brought together participants from the fifteen districts in the Salaga Area, with a total attendance of fifty-eight (58) individuals, primarily persons with disabilities (PWDs). The convention featured various presentations by speakers aimed at providing spiritual empowerment, practical guidance, and holistic support to enhance the well-being and inclusion of PWDs within the church and community.
Key activities included a session on mental health counselling, where PWDs received professional advice on issues such as depression and su***de, gaining insights on embracing their identity with joy despite challenges. Participants shared personal concerns, which were addressed through godly principles. Another highlight was a facilitation by Dr. Mrs. Esther Owusu Dankwa on living a healthy lifestyle, teaching PWDs how to manage their diet, reduce stress, and engage in suitable exercises.
A dedicated Holy Spirit baptism session resulted in eight (8) PWDs receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit by the grace of God. Additionally, teachings on relationships and marital life for PWDs covered the dos and don’ts, debunked myths and misconceptions, and encouraged attendees with valuable knowledge. An open forum allowed PWDs to share inspiring testimonies of how God has blessed them with resources and enabled them to impact others positively, even amid their disabilities.
Participants expressed profound gratitude for the transformative experience, acknowledging the church’s ongoing commitment to uplifting and empowering persons with disabilities through such initiatives.
