JESUS CHRIST – THE GRACE OF GOD (Continued)

Friends, depending on the Bible version we read, we encounter various expressions of the grace of God, such as Saving Grace, Sanctifying Grace, Strengthening Grace, Sharing Grace, and Serving Grace.

However, these can conveniently be grouped under two broad categories: Saving Grace and Enabling Grace, both of which are found and rooted in Jesus Christ.

SAVING GRACE

Saving grace is God's unmerited favor toward humanity. Though we were sinners deserving judgment, God looked upon us with love, forgave us, and restored us into relationship with Himself. We received forgiveness and reconciliation not because we deserved it, but because of His mercy and grace.

This privilege gives us confidence to call upon the name of the Lord in times of crisis, fear, intimidation, or depression. It causes us to surrender completely to God, waiting upon Him because we recognize that our confidence is not in ourselves, but in Him.

Through saving grace, we are:

• Freed from the power of sin (Romans 6:20, 22).
• Enabled to do the will and pleasure of God (Philippians 2:13).
• Empowered to walk in obedience (Matthew 7:21).
• Given the grace to pray (Zechariah 12:10).
• Enabled to grow in Christ (2 Peter 3:18).
• Empowered to witness for Christ (Acts 4:33; Acts 11:23).

We can do nothing apart from the grace of God, and God has assured us that His grace is sufficient for us all. Hebrews 4:16 encourages us to approach the throne of grace boldly so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in times of need.

From John 15:1–11, we learn that we enjoy and experience God's grace by abiding in Christ through studying and obeying His Word. The grace of God is strengthened in our lives as we hear and proclaim the Gospel, pray and fast, worship God, and continually yield to the Holy Spirit.

The grace of God covers every deficiency in our walk with Him. Jesus Christ, our Great Intercessor—the very embodiment of God's grace—is continually interceding on our behalf. He covers the areas we may not even be aware of because He is our Captain, Advocate, and High Priest.

Saving grace brings us into God's presence, while enabling grace gives us the capacity to grow. As we mature in Christ, the operation of enabling grace becomes increasingly evident in our lives.

For believers to become God's battle axe, we must take responsibility for our spiritual growth. God prunes us and allows certain pressures into our lives so that we may mature and become sharp arrows in His quiver, useful for both Kingdom service and spiritual warfare.

Just as earthly parents desire their children to grow, our Heavenly Father desires spiritual growth and maturity in His children. God loves us, and therefore He calls us to grow in grace.

ENABLING GRACE

Enabling grace is God's empowering presence that enables believers to live, serve, and fulfill His purposes.

Our capacity to walk in God's grace increases as:

1. We Grow in the Knowledge of Christ

As we grow in our understanding of the Lord (2 Peter 3:18; Colossians 1:10; 2 Peter 1:3), Christ increasingly becomes everything to us.

2. We Learn to Use the Name of Jesus

We gain confidence to confront challenges and spiritual opposition because we know whom we carry within us. The name of Jesus is a strong tower (Proverbs 18:10), and believers are commissioned to minister in His authority (Mark 16:17; Acts 4:30).

3. We Operate in Greater Dimensions of God's Grace

As we mature, we experience greater manifestations of God's power through Christ. At the name of Jesus every knee must bow, and every tongue must confess that He is Lord.

Brethren, whatever we are engaged in, we need God's grace to serve Him acceptably. Without His grace, we are empty and powerless. Everything we need in this life comes by the grace of God.

Jesus said, “Without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). Therefore, abiding in Him is not optional—it is essential.

We are saved by grace and sustained by grace. Therefore, we must understand the necessity of continually depending on God's grace. Why should we run anxiously from place to place when God has invited us to come boldly to the throne of grace, where we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in our time of need?

JESUS CHRIST – THE GRACE OF GOD

Anchor Scripture:
Titus 2:11 (NKJV)
"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men."

Brethren, as a WATCHMAN, I hereby acknowledge that whatever I continue to share under any subject is only the tip of the iceberg; it is not exhaustive. It is the limited insight the Lord graciously exposes me to as I glean from His Word. There will always be deeper depths and higher heights to reach as we continually expose ourselves to the Word of God.

Please remember, no one has the monopoly on the Word of God, for we all know in part and receive in part (1 Corinthians 13:9-10). Every interpretation of Scripture we hear from servants of God should always align with other portions of Scripture. I pray that we shall continually receive understanding as we read, and that the Holy Spirit will stir our hearts to go deeper into His Word, conducting ourselves like the believers of Berea (Acts 17:11).

Friends, the terror of the Lord compels me (2 Corinthians 5:11) to write this way. Therefore, please make room for my nuances as we faithfully run our various courses together.

The subject, “THE GRACE OF GOD,” cannot be treated casually because there are various dimensions to God’s grace, and this GRACE resonates throughout the entire Bible.

In the Old Testament, God revealed Himself as the God of grace and mercy, showing love to His creation not because they deserved it, but because that is His nature. In the New Testament, we see the same GRACE revealed through Christ Jesus and made available to all, especially believers, through the Holy Spirit.

The journey of every Christian is dependent on the Grace of God, for we are who we are, and will become all God has purposed us to be, by His grace alone.

The Grace of God is one of the most important concepts in the Bible and in the world today. However, it has become a cliché that many confess without truly understanding what they are saying.

This grace is clearly expressed in the promises of God revealed in Scripture and is fully embodied in Jesus Christ. The Grace of God can be described as:

- The love of God shown to the unlovable,
- The peace of God given to the restless,
- And the unmerited favor of God made available to mankind.

The Grace of God cannot be earned; it is freely given by God. Sometimes we see grace as the bridge God built to reconcile humanity back to Himself. In Christ, we see the Grace of God fully displayed, manifested, and active.

The Grace of God demonstrates the power to transform — from a force, to a virtue, and ultimately to a Person: Jesus Christ.

Brethren, I beseech all of us to have this fundamental understanding that JESUS CHRIST is the Grace of God revealed and manifested to the human race.

The Grace of God, which is Jesus Christ, discards every negative word spoken against us, overlooks even the vilest sinner, brings forgiveness, and makes saints out of wretched souls like you and I. He wipes away every handwriting against our health, destiny, and conditions of life, opening a new page of hope and restoration. He takes us beyond human ability and silences every voice of opposition.

Remember, we have all received a measure of the Grace of God (1 Corinthians 1:4) — both believers and unbelievers — so that we may be able to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sincerely, we cannot carry the Grace of God and remain insignificant on planet earth. The level of grace we carry determines the level of impact we make in our generation.

We arrived here by grace, and we shall move to the next level by grace. To complete that project, receive that promotion, succeed in life, experience healing and restoration, accomplish the impossible, and be fruitful — it will take the Grace of God.

Indeed, the Grace of God insulates us from the arrows of the wicked one and protects us from the terrible evil in this world. Grace sustains, preserves, empowers, directs, strengthens, and enables us.

The Grace of God causes us to walk in joy, peace, love, faithfulness, kindness, obedience, humility, and gratitude.

The Grace of God is the kindness and love God showed us despite our sins and shortcomings.

Ephesians 2:8-9 captures it beautifully:
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

Titus 2:11-14 also declares:
"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age."

Jesus is truly the embodiment of grace and truth. The Grace of God does not only rescue us from the penalty of sin; it transforms us from the inside out.

The Word of God further assures us in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10:
"My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."

Every gap of insufficiency in our lives is covered by the Grace of God, for Christ is our sufficiency. God’s grace is enough to sustain us through every challenge of life. When we are weak, His strength is perfected in us.

To be continued…

We shall continue by looking at the various categories or expressions of the Grace of God:

- Saving Grace
- Sanctifying Grace
- Strengthening Grace
- Sharing Grace
- Serving Grace

And finally, we shall conclude.

THE OFFERING WE BRING BEFORE GOD

Anchor Scripture: Malachi 1:6–10

The Bible speaks about offerings under two dispensations: the Old Testament and the New Testament. However, the principle remains the same—giving God our very best.

In the Old Testament, offerings were physical, regulated, and often involved blood, all pointing to Jesus Christ—the perfect sacrifice. These are detailed in Leviticus chapters 1–5 and include the burnt offering, grain offering, peace (fellowship) offering, sin offering, and guilt (trespass) offering. Later, tithe, first fruits, and freewill offerings were added.

Malachi 1:8 clearly shows what God expects—the first, the best, and without defect.
Anything less—especially leftovers—was considered an insult to God.

An accusation was brought against the priests in Malachi 1:8. They dishonoured God by offering crippled and diseased animals, contrary to His command in Leviticus 22:22.

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ fulfilled all blood sacrifices (Hebrews 10:10, Hebrews 10:8). We no longer offer animals because Christ is the final Lamb (John 1:29).

However, the concept of offering continues—only now, it takes a deeper, more personal form.

As believers, we are called to offer:

Ourselves
Our time
Our resources
Our gifts
Our obedience
Our worship, praise, and thanksgiving
Our prayers and intercession
Our love, service, and fellowship

Above all, we must offer ourselves first—not 10%, but 100% of who we are.

“Present your bodies as a living sacrifice…” — Romans 12:1

This includes our money, time, plans—our everything—given willingly and cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9:7).

A moment of reflection:

What are we truly offering to God?

Are they our best… or just leftovers?
Do we serve God deliberately or only at our convenience?

Is our prayer time our best time—when we are fresh and focused—or when we are tired and distracted?

Our worship, service, love, and devotion—are they whole or “crippled”?

Sometimes we say, “It depends on my conviction.”
But God sees the heart.

May He show us mercy and open our understanding so we can get it right.

The heart condition matters most.

God looks at:

Is it your first and best?
Is it done willingly?
Is it done in obedience, love, and faith?

“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:21

God does not need our money or possessions (Psalm 50:12).
He wants our hearts.

Let our sacrifices not be rejected because of our attitude or divided devotion. If God truly reigns in our lives, nothing should compete with Him.

Brethren, the God of the Bible demands our best—because He is our source. Everything we have, including our time, comes from Him.

May the fear of the Lord fill our hearts as we step out daily to honour Him.

May our sacrifices be acceptable in His sight. Amen!

HOW DO WE PERCEIVE PRAYER?

Brethren, permit me to draw your attention to prayer—our lifeline as Christians.

Key Scriptures:
1 Thessalonians 5:17, Luke 18:1, Ephesians 6:18, Colossians 4:2, Romans 12:12

The Word of God clearly admonishes us to maintain a continuous attitude of prayer—to be devoted, persistent, alert, joyful, and connected to God at all times.

Simply put, it is about living a life infused with prayer, because prayer is not separate from the believer’s life—it is part of it.

Prayer must be who we are, not just what we do.

This means prayer isn’t merely an activity, but an expression of our identity and relationship with God. It is about cultivating a lifestyle of communion with Him, not just performing a periodic religious routine.

Prayer must become as natural as breathing—something we engage in continually, whether consciously or unconsciously.

It must define us—not just as people who talk to God, but as people who walk with Him.

Since our relationship with God shapes who we are, prayer should flow from within us—just like love flows from us to Him.

Prayer must become a lifestyle, not a task.

Prayer must be like a heartbeat.

When prayer becomes who we are, it overflows into every area of our lives. Our thoughts, actions, and interactions will reflect our connection with God.

In the same way salt seasons food, prayer must not be an add-on—it must become part of our very essence.

Stay connected. Stay prayerful. Stay in Him.

THE IRONY OF OUR CHRISTIAN WALK!

Scripture Reference: 2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (NKJV)

Here we are, once again, contemplating our true identity. Is it possible to be in church for years and yet not be in Christ?

The answer is a big YES!

Scripture says, “If any man be in Christ…”—not in church—is a new creation. Brethren, it is possible to be in church and not be in Christ.

One of the seven Spirits of God present in Christ (Isaiah 11:2) is the Spirit of Understanding. Christ is resident in every child of God; however, we must pray for understanding as we engage His Word daily, because there are both the letter and the Spirit dimensions of the Word (2 Corinthians 3:6).

“For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”

Since the Word of God is powerful, as we pursue God passionately—hungering and thirsting after Him—we shall receive a measure of this understanding.

Being intentional about our walk in the Spirit, and not after the flesh, positions us to truly be in Christ. We cannot be in Christ and still fulfill the lusts of the flesh, as stated in Galatians 5:16:

“Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” (NKJV)

The Word of God is emphatic—“you shall not.”

Being in Christ means walking in the light. This requires a conscious, daily effort to put off the old self (nature), which is full of deceitful desires, and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:22–24).

This process is not optional in our Christian walk. It is not a one-time event, but a daily commitment as long as we live in this body.

The choice to be in Christ is therefore our responsibility, even as we labour in church daily.

Our enemy, the devil, knows his time is limited and is doing everything possible to keep believers walking in pretense and deception unknowingly.

Remember, the same devil deceived Adam and Eve in a world without sin. How much more vigilant must we be, living in a corrupt world? Only those who are truly in Christ can live victoriously as they serve God faithfully in the vineyard.

Finally, let us be admonished by the Word of God:

📖 Colossians 3:12 (AMP)
“Clothe yourselves therefore, as God’s own chosen ones… with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.”

Being in Christ is not optional—we must be sure that we are.

God has drawn us to Himself with great privileges and blessings to enjoy. Our Christian walk must bring pleasure to Him.

May we continue to enjoy God’s peace and many blessings as we go through this day.

Shalom! 🙏

GOSSIP UNDER THE CLOAK OF “GIST”

Brethren, the pilgrim is on the block once again and desires to catch up with all. Indeed, it is always appropriate to reconnect with old friends, colleagues, and fellow believers for many good reasons.

However, in doing so, when such interactions shift their focus to individuals, the likelihood of crossing that thin line into gossip becomes a real challenge.

As much as we may never intend to gossip, we sometimes end up saying uncomplimentary things about a brother or sister. Though our spiritual antennas may be active, they are not always sensitive enough to detect early warning signals.

Philippians 4:8 admonishes us:
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are noble, whatsoever things are right, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

Brethren, let it be known that deception is a major challenge in the Body of Christ. It can manifest anywhere and at any time within the Church. No group is immune to this subtle tactic of the enemy.

As pilgrims, we are constantly confronted with many issues—among them, the desire to stay relevant and not feel left out in our journey. Sadly, in the name of “catching up,” many have unknowingly drifted into gossip.

The enemy continues to outmaneuver the children of God, and we have conveniently rebranded gossip with a softer name—“gist.” Yes, we sometimes find ourselves gossiping unknowingly. The web is subtle and deceptive—you may find yourself caught in it before you even realize what has happened.

Gossip falls within the domain of casual, often unverified, and sometimes malicious talk about others. It may involve sharing private or sensitive information without consent, or speculating about someone’s actions, motives, or character in a way that is neither constructive nor edifying.

Let it also be established: anyone who initiates and frames stories about others has the potential to do the same about you.

Gossip is hurtful, damaging, and often subtly intended to undermine someone’s reputation. When shared, it spreads quickly, amplifying falsehoods and causing deeper harm.

The effects of gossip are devastating:

It causes emotional pain and broken relationships
It damages reputations and credibility
It creates suspicion, conflict, and distrust
It erodes trust, making future relationships difficult to build

The Word of God strongly warns against gossip and calls us to speak truthfully, kindly, and constructively. It encourages us to be slow to speak, quick to listen, and careful with our words.

Biblical perspectives:

📖 Proverbs 16:28
“A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.”

📖 Proverbs 17:9
“Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.”

📖 Proverbs 26:28
“A lying tongue hates those it hurts, and a flattering mouth works ruin.”

📖 Romans 1:29–31
Gossip is listed among behaviors that lead to spiritual decline.

📖 Ephesians 4:29–32
Speak only what is helpful for building others up.

📖 James 1:19–20
Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.

📖 Proverbs 18:21
“The tongue has the power of life and death.”

Let us remember the seriousness the Bible attaches to this harmful habit. Gossip is like a silent cancer—it destroys from within.

It may also be a sign of deeper issues, such as a lack of love, kindness, or self-control.

Brethren, let us guard our hearts and our tongues. Let our words build, not break. Let our conversations edify, not destroy.

Choose truth. Choose love. Choose silence when necessary.

Enjoy God’s peace and many blessings 🙏

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE?

Scripture Reference: James 4:13–17
Anchor Verse: James 4:14

“…For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”

As we grow older, our perspectives about life change. When we visit the house of mourning, many thoughts flood our minds, and we begin to ask why. These are legitimate questions that must be confronted.

In our loneliest moments, we may look at others and wonder if they too are searching—seeking something they cannot fully describe, yet deeply know they need.

Humanity is searching—and will continue to search—for answers to the confusion, moral decay, and spiritual emptiness confronting our world today.

We talk of peace, yet we are surrounded by wars.
We design elaborate systems for security, yet true safety eludes us.
For generations, humanity has been running in circles like frightened children—and the chaos has not ceased.

The irony is this: life is short, no matter how many years we live.

We must not deceive ourselves into thinking we have plenty of time—to live for Christ, to love our families, or to do what truly matters.

The adversary of our souls continues to deceive many into believing everything will be fine, when in reality, things are worsening by the day. The Word of God remains true:

“There will be terrible times in the last days.” — 2 Timothy 3:1

Up to now, humanity still wrestles with the question: “What is life all about?”

No illness or disease can truly be called terminal—life itself is terminal.
“It is appointed unto men once to die…” — Hebrews 9:27

This realization can bring a sense of hopelessness—but it doesn’t have to.

Outside of Christ, every attempt to answer the question “What is your life?” leads to a dead end.

Be it science, philosophy, religion, psychology, or metaphysics—none provides the ultimate answer. Only Christ does.

Jesus said:
“…I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” — John 10:10

No one in human history has made such a profound declaration.

Christ is the answer.

We must turn to Him sincerely and truthfully.

NO JESUS, NO LIFE.
KNOW JESUS, KNOW LIFE.

The choice is ours.

The time for mental debates and delay is over. Some are already in “injury time” on the field of life. Our time could end sooner than we expect—we are not guaranteed the next hour, let alone tomorrow.

Make that decisive move today. Don’t be checkmated by life.

In the midst of life’s restless storms, Christ stands firm—steadfast, calm, and ready to receive all who turn to Him.

We are living in the dispensation of grace—but it will not last forever. Let us live with the awareness that we are on borrowed time, so we can act wisely and purposefully.

I leave you with this admonition from Apostle Paul:

“And when Christ, who is our real life, comes back again, you will shine with Him and share in all His glory.” — Colossians 3:4 (TLB)

Let us do what is needful as we continue to enjoy God’s peace and abundant blessings. 🙏

JESUS DIED TO GIVE US A NEW LIFE ✝️

Anchor Scripture:
“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” — Romans 6:6

The Lord Jesus didn’t come to give us a religion; He came to give us a new life—the God-kind of life. He gave up everything, even His own life, to make us sons and daughters of God.

When we truly understand the magnitude of His sacrifice, it transforms our outlook on life. We live victoriously every day, knowing that His death, burial, and resurrection brought us everlasting life—free from sin, sickness, poverty, and death.

The sacrifice of Jesus Christ wasn’t symbolic; it was real—and so is the freedom it brought us.

His resurrection secured our victory over death and every form of oppression. The Bible says:
“Knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over Him.” — Romans 6:9

And guess what? Death has no dominion over us either, because we are in Him.

Through His death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus gave us His very nature. We are now alive unto God! We’re not just forgiven—we’re recreated, made the righteousness of God in Christ.

So we reign in this life through Christ, as the Bible says:
“For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” — Romans 5:17

Let’s stop trying to make it—we’ve already made it in Christ! The old nature is dead, and the new creation (us) is alive with the life of God.

The Apostle Paul tells us:
“Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:11

Let’s live with this consciousness. After our new birth, we are not sinners—we are the righteousness of God in Christ.

We’re not the defeated trying to get victory; we are the victors, reigning in life through Christ Jesus.

Hallelujah! 🙌
