Season's greetings from Goodnews Mission, Accra East branch to you all! ππ This year's Christmas eve celebration took place on the 24th night.
After a spirited morning session, the brethren came together to prepare for a Christmas dinner. Various departments of the church presented amazing performances to cap off the celebration.
The Christmas dinner began with sumptuous meals, followed closely by the performances lined up for the evening. The Righteous Stars, Sunday School, Student Team, and Youth Group took turns to display their performances.
Amidst the performances, there was a Bible Chapter Challenge that initially had 12 contestants. This contest required a lot of Mind-Body coordination and contestants had to act in a split second.
In the end, the final two contestants were youth sisters, where Abena Sefa Boatemaa emerged as the winner. This signifies that the future of the church is in good hands.
Pastor Jae Kyun Yang shared the word of God from Matthew 1:21, which talks about the birth of Christ and the significance of Christ's birth to us. "She shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." The reason we celebrate Christmas is to signify Christ's birth in our lives, who saved us from our sins. Pastor Yang mentioned that it's important that we individually acknowledge the birth of Jesus Christ in our hearts, that signifies our salvation and the righteousness of God given us through the birth of Jesus Christ.
We have been privileged to have Pastor Yang's parents who had travelled from South Korea to spend this year's Christmas with the family and the Church brethren as well.
The program concluded with an exuberant choir performance, leaving the atmosphere filled with joyous praises and dance from may brothers and sisters, to glorify the name of our Lord Jesus.
