THE MESSIAH IS COMING BACK

SERMON TITLE: THE GREATEST TRAGEDY IS A WASTED LIFE

Main Text: Ephesians 2:10

«"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life."»

Introduction

Many people fear death, poverty, failure, and rejection. Yet one of the greatest tragedies is not dying young or lacking wealth—it is living an entire life without fulfilling the purpose for which God created you.

God did not create mankind merely to eat, work, marry, build houses, and eventually die. Every believer has been created in Christ Jesus for a divine purpose. A life disconnected from God's purpose is a life that misses its true calling.

One day every person will stand before God and give an account of how they lived.

1. You Are God's Workmanship

Paul says we are God's workmanship. The Greek word translated "workmanship" refers to something skillfully made.

You are not the product of chance. God intentionally created you. Your gifts, opportunities, and even your experiences can be used for His glory when surrendered to Him.

Since you belong to God, your life should reflect His character and His holiness.

Supporting Scriptures:

- Psalm 139:13–16
- Isaiah 64:8

2. Salvation Produces a Changed Life

Notice that Paul says we are created in Christ Jesus for good works.

Good works do not save us, but genuine salvation produces a transformed life that bears fruit.

A person who claims to know Christ but continues to live comfortably in sin should examine himself.

Jesus said:

«"By their fruits ye shall know them." (Matthew 7:20)»

The evidence of salvation is not merely church attendance or religious activity. It is a transformed life that increasingly reflects Christ.

3. God Prepared Your Assignment Before You Were Born

The verse declares that God prepared these good works beforehand.

This means your calling is not an afterthought.

Before Jeremiah was born, God appointed him as a prophet.

Before Paul encountered Christ on the Damascus road, God already had a purpose for his life.

God has an assignment for every believer, but not everyone chooses to walk in it.

Many people spend years pursuing success while neglecting God's will.

4. Walking in God's Purpose Requires Obedience

God prepares the work, but we must choose to walk in it.

Obedience often requires:

- Surrender.
- Holiness.
- Faith.
- Perseverance.
- A willingness to deny ourselves.

Jesus said:

«"If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." (Luke 9:23)»

Purpose cannot be fulfilled without obedience.

5. The Judgment Seat of Christ

Every believer will give an account before Christ.

Our works will be examined—not to determine whether we are saved, but to evaluate our faithfulness.

Some will receive rewards.

Others will discover that much of what they lived for has no eternal value.

This is why every day matters.

Conclusion

God did not save you simply to occupy a church pew.

He saved you to glorify Him, proclaim His gospel, serve His Kingdom, and walk in the works He prepared for you.

Do not spend your life chasing temporary things while neglecting eternal things.

One day this world will pass away.

The question will not be, "How much did you own?"

It will be, "Did you fulfill the purpose for which Christ redeemed you?"

Today is the day to surrender completely to Jesus Christ, walk in obedience, and live for what will last forever.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for creating us with purpose in Christ Jesus. Forgive us for the times we have pursued our own desires instead of Your will. Open our eyes to the work You have prepared for us, and give us the courage to walk in obedience. Help us to live lives that glorify You and to be found faithful when we stand before Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Hell is real. The devil is actively working to lead as many souls there as possible, and this is no game.

The world is filled with distractions designed to consume our attention, our desires, and our time. Many of these things keep us chasing temporary pleasures while pulling our hearts farther away from Jesus Christ—the only One who is able to save us from eternal condemnation.

Satan's strategy is simple: keep people entertained, distracted, and spiritually asleep so they never stop to consider the reality and severity of hell or the eternal separation from Jesus Christ.

Do not be deceived. This world is passing away, but eternity is forever. Do not trade your soul for temporary pleasures that cannot save you.

Turn to Jesus Christ while there is still time. Repent of your sins. Walk in obedience to His Word. He alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and only through Him is salvation found.

Please, do not fall for the enemy's deception. Your soul is worth more than this world, and eternity is too long to be wrong.

⚠️ A PROPHETIC WARNING TO THIS GENERATION ⚠️

Church, wake up!

You do not own time, and time does not belong to you. Every heartbeat you take is sustained only by the mercy of God. The greatest deception keeping many souls from Christ is the belief that there will always be another opportunity.

"I will repent later."
"I will surrender my life to Jesus when I am ready."
"I still have time."

These words have become the funeral song of countless souls.

The enemy does not need to convince you to reject Christ forever. He only needs to convince you to postpone your obedience until tomorrow. But tomorrow is not yours—it belongs to God.

The grave has swallowed people who made plans for the next day. Judgment has met those who never expected their last breath to be their final one. The clock of God's mercy is still open today, but no one knows when their opportunity will end.

Do not mistake God's patience for His approval. His mercy is calling you to repentance, not giving you permission to continue in sin.

If there is hidden sin, forsake it. If there is bitterness, let it go. If there is compromise, abandon it. If you have grown cold, return to your first love. If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, do not delay another moment.

The call of the Holy Spirit is not, "Come when you are ready." The call is, "Come now."

Do not gamble with eternity. Your next breath is not guaranteed. Your next sunrise is not promised. The only moment you have been given is this one.

Repent while mercy still speaks. Seek the Lord while He may be found. Humble yourself before the King while the door of grace remains open.

One day, time will end for every one of us. On that day, excuses will have no voice, delays will have no value, and only those who belong to Jesus Christ will stand in the hope of eternal life.

Today is the day to repent. Today is the day to obey. Today is the day to follow Jesus Christ. Delay no longer.
