Time is one of the greatest trusts from Allāh, yet it is also one of the most wasted.
Allāh swears by time in the Qur’an: “By time, indeed mankind is in loss…” (Sūrah al-‘Asr). This shows that losing time is equal to losing life itself; except for those who use it in faith, good deeds, truth, and patience.
The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) warned: “There are two blessings which many people waste: health and free time.” (Bukhārī). Today, much of our time is consumed by distraction; endless scrolling, idle talk, and delay in worship; while our real purpose slips away.
A believer treats time like a precious currency:
• Guard your prayers before your schedule fills up.
• Replace idle moments with dhikr or beneficial knowledge.
• Remember that every hour is either for you or against you on the Day of Judgment.
A simple mindset: If it does not bring you closer to Allāh, it is costing you more than you think.
