๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ (๐๐/๐๐/๐๐)
A doctor has his honour. A lecturer has his honour. The president has honour. Our parents have honour. Why? Because Scripture commands us to honour them.
But there is a category of people God says must receive double honour โ our pastors. How do we doubly honour the man God has placed over our lives?
Today, Pastor Ansere took us deep into the practical, biblical ways we show honour to our pastor โ not in theory, but in action. Letโs dive in.
From our previous studies, we learnt that when a person honours, it is a sign that God is at work in that manโs heart. So if God is working on a manโs heart to honour his pastor, what is God asking him to do?
We were taught that to honour means to recognize and respond rightly to the value, the weight, and the significance God has placed on someone. So after recognizing, what do we do?
We learnt that we give the pastor double honour. The honour we give to the pastor is his reward. Some versions of Scripture call it his wages and fair compensation. Yes, his wages. A pastor is paid by God, but He pays him through the people the pastor labours over.
How do the people reciprocate that labour? Through honour.
We were taught that to practically honour a man of God is to love and appreciate your pastor enough to give to him materially. It is to care enough to take care of him, support him, and sustain him to the point where his personal, private, and corporate dreams are fulfilled. And it means giving the first and the best to your pastor.
This is how we can practically honour our pastor.
May God touch your heart to see the need of your pastor.
Shalom shalom!!
