The call for burden bearers gains fresh life with every passing renewal service. In this service, Pastor Ansere led the church through a foundational teaching on serving the Lord by serving in His local church.
He laid the groundwork by showing that worship is a manβs declaration of who his God is, while service is the demonstration of that worship. In other words, service is the practicality of worship. A man may declare in his heart that he worships God, but what proves it is his service. Service, therefore, is the physical and evident activity by which a man demonstrates that he truly worships God.
However, we cannot simply perform any activity and call it service to God. Since it is God we serve, He alone defines how He should be worshipped, what actions constitute service, and where that service must be rendered. We understood that God has designated a place for His people to serve Him, and that place is the Body of Christ. When a man is born again, God adds him to the Body of Christ, the Church. Within this Body are various families, and God places every believer in a family, which becomes their local church. The local church is the place God has structured and determined for us to serve Him.
This means that we truly worship God by serving in the local church where He has planted us. To serve God effectively in this context, we must understand the vision He has given that local church and the convictions of the Man of God leading it. The church will move forward and advance only when the people grasp the vision of the church and align with the driving force of the Man of God.
The root of dying churches is the dishonor people show toward the driving forceβthe Man of Godβand their failure to pay attention to fulfilling the vision God has given him.
The question is: are you serving where God planted you?
Shalom shalom!!
