Dear Heavenly Father,

As I stand before You on this special day, my birthday, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the journey You've taken me through. You've been my Rock, my Refuge, and my Deliverer in times of trouble. I'm thankful for Your protection, preservation, and guidance throughout my ministry.

Testimonies of Faithfulness God.
You've shielded me from external and internal attacks, from both friendly and unfriendly enemies. Despite the plots and evil arrows aimed at me, You've consistently delivered me from their hands and traps. I'm grateful for Your faithfulness and love.

Appreciation for Loved Ones
I'm also thankful for my wife, who has been a pillar of support and strength in the midst of challenges. Her encouragement and partnership have been invaluable. I'm grateful for my children, who are a blessing from You. And I'm blessed tol
serve a congregation that has grown and learned alongside me.

A Prayer for Continued Guidance
As I celebrate another year of life, I pray that You'll continue to grant me wisdom, strength, and guidance. May Your hand remain upon me, guiding me in ministry and in life. I pray that You'll continue to protect and preserve me, my family, and our congregation.

A Commitment to Elevate God
Today and every day, I want to elevate You above everything in life. You are my Rock, my Savior, and my Lord. May Your name be glorified in all that I do.

Who were Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem?

Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem were three enemies of the Jews who made several attempts to stop Nehemiah from rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. Sanballat and Tobiah are first mentioned in Nehemiah 2:10 as upset about Nehemiah’s work; When Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official heard about this, they were very much disturbed that someone had come to promote the welfare of the Israelites. In verse 19, they, along with Geshem the Arab, mock Nehemiah, saying, What is this you are doing? . . . Are you rebelling against the king? When the construction was taking place, their anger grew: When Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became angry and was greatly incensed. He ridiculed the Jews

The Horonites and Ammonites were two of the people groups God had driven from the Promised Land for the Israelites. Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem were regional governors serving under the king of Persia. Sanballat, called a Horonite, was probably from Horonaim, a city of Moab. Tobiah the Ammonite was governing an area east of the Jordan River. Geshem the Arab was most likely from the region south of Judah. Generations after Israel had first possessed the Promised Land, some of their old enemies were back, seeking to keep Jerusalem in ruins.

Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem used various ploys in their attempt to disrupt the Jews’ work.
These three men sought to harm Nehemiah, intimidate him with false reports; deceive him with false prophets; and influence the nobles of Judah.
Nehemiah adds that Eliashib the high priest was related to Tobiah and one of his grandsons was the son-in-law of Sanballat.

The efforts of Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem were futile for the simple reason that they were fighting God’s plan. The wall of Jerusalem was completed in record time (Nehemiah 6:15). Nehemiah’s response to his enemies is instructive to us. Rather than fear or worry or seek revenge, Nehemiah took the matter to the Lord:

Remember Tobiah and Sanballat, my God, because of what they have done; remember also the prophet Noadiah and how she and the rest of the prophets have been trying to intimidate me” (Nehemiah 6:14).

This to tell us that our God giving ministry on Earth could also be hindered by most servants of God whom are related to our external enemies or our household enemies. We need God every hour in our daily lives.

MAY GOD EXPOSE ALL YOUR ENEMIES

In Romans 1, Paul addresses the Gentile believers at Rome and begins by explaining his mission, which was to preach the gospel to everyone. He concludes his explanation by saying, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith’”

The word translated “ashamed” means “disgraced” or “personally humiliated. A person “ashamed” in this way is like someone singled out for misplacing his confidence—he trusted in something, and that something let him down. The word can refer to being dishonored because of forming the wrong alliances. So, when Paul says that he is not ashamed of the gospel, he is saying his confidence in the gospel is not misplaced. There is no disgrace in declaring it. Paul had given his life to proclaiming the truths that Jesus Himself had revealed to him.
Acts 9:3–6; 2 Corinthians 12:2–4.
He explained to the Romans why he did not believe that he had wrongly identified with Jesus and why proclaiming Jesus’ message was his life’s work.

The application can extend to us as well. Just as Paul placed his confidence in the gospel of Christ, so can we. We can proclaim with boldness the truths that God has revealed in His Word, with no fear that our confidence is misplaced. Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame
Romans 10:11; Isaiah 28:16.
We can rest in the knowledge that the Holy Spirit who inspired the writing of Scripture never changes
2 Peter 1:21; Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8
What was true thousands of years ago is still true. The offer of salvation that was presented to people of the first century is still open to us Acts 2:39; John 17:20

To live unashamed of the gospel means we proclaim it, but it also means we apply it to our lives and show we believe it. Paul’s life choices supported his message. He did not preach one thing and live another. We are ashamed of the gospel when we allow sin in our lives to go unchecked (Matthew 3:8). When we indulge in worldliness and carnal desires or blatantly disobey scriptural standards, we indicate that we lack confidence in our own message. When we “walk in the counsel of the ungodly, stand in the path of sinners, and sit in the seat of scoffers we are being ashamed of the gospel. We are not allowing its truth to pe*****te our lives so that others see its changing power. To live unashamed of the gospel means that we, like Paul, allow it to dominate our lives to the extent that everyone within our sphere of influence can see that we have been with Jesus
