The Chairman of THE CHURCH OF PENTECOST, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has declared that Jesus Christ died as a substitute for humanity, bearing the punishment meant for sinners.

He made this statement while ministering at the New Edubiase Zone in the Obuasi Area during the 2026 Easter Convention on the topic, “Jesus, Our Passover Lamb.”

Apostle Nyamekye explained that sin fundamentally represents humanity’s separation from God, noting that this estrangement manifests in various forms of evil.

Referencing John 1:29, he indicated that Jesus came primarily to reconcile humanity back to God by taking away the sin of the world.
