*🔥 PENTECOST SUNDAY EXPLAINED IN 10 SIMPLE POINTS*

1️⃣ Did you know that Catholic priests wear RED vestments on Pentecost Sunday instead of the usual green, white, or purple?

2️⃣ Did you know that the color red symbolizes the *Holy Spirit* who descended upon the apostles after the Ascension of Jesus?

3️⃣ Did you know that the Bible describes the coming of the Holy Spirit as *“tongues as of fire”* resting upon the apostles? (Acts 2:3)

4️⃣ Did you know that before Pentecost the apostles were fearful and hiding, but after receiving the Holy Spirit they preached boldly to the world?

5️⃣ Did you know that Pentecost is often called the *“Birthday of the Church”* because it marked the beginning of the Church’s public mission?

6️⃣ Did you know that red also symbolizes courage, zeal, sacrifice, and martyrdom in Catholic liturgy?

7️⃣ Did you know that many of the apostles who received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost later gave their lives for the Christian faith?

8️⃣ Did you know that the Church uses different liturgical colors to teach spiritual meanings?
⚪ White — joy and purity
🟣 Purple — penance and preparation
🟢 Green — hope and Ordinary Time
🔴 Red — the Holy Spirit, fire, and sacrifice

9️⃣ Did you know that Pentecost fulfills Jesus’ promise: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you” (Acts 1:8)?

🔟 Did you know that Catholics believe the same Holy Spirit who descended at Pentecost is still guiding and strengthening the Church today?

1️⃣1️⃣ Did you know that the color RED in the Catholic Church symbolizes both sacrifice and fire, representing the Precious Blood of Christ and the fire of the Holy Spirit?

1️⃣2️⃣ Did you know that priests wear red vestments on Palm Sunday, Good Friday, the feasts of martyrs, and Pentecost to remind the faithful of Christ’s Passion, martyrdom, and the coming of the Holy Spirit?

🔥 “Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.”
