The presence of God makes the difference. It is the defining line between destruction and deliverance, failure and success, fear and victory.
Throughout Scripture, God reveals that He is not distant from us, but actively present with us especially in moments of trial.
In the account of the fiery furnace (Daniel 3:24–25), when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the fire for refusing to bow to idols, the king expected their destruction. Instead, he saw a fourth man in the fire, “like the Son of God.” The flames that were meant to consume them became a testimony of divine presence. God did not stop the fire, but He entered it with them, preserving them so completely that not even the smell of smoke remained on them (Daniel 3:27). His presence turned a place of death into a platform for glory.
Similarly, in the lions’ den (Daniel 6:22), Daniel was cast among hungry lions as a result of his unwavering devotion to God. Yet by morning, he declared, “My God hath sent His angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths.” Again, God did not prevent the trial, but His presence in it restrained danger and secured victory.
In a time and age where darkness, hate, and evil abound, we must be intentional to cultivate, activate, and sustain the presence of God.
Be blessed always.
