ASANTE AKYEM PRESBYTERY HONOURS VISUALLY IMPAIRED JY TEACHER FOR 30+ YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE

Mr. Kwakye Nkrumah Samuel, a visually impaired Junior Youth teacher from the Asiwa District, was honoured for his unwavering dedication to the work of nurturing young lives in the church for over 30 years.

The award was presented during the Asante Akyem Presbytery Junior Youth Teachers’ Annual Conference held at Emmaus Congregation, Konongo, from 15th to 17th May, 2026. Despite his visual impairment, Mr. Kwakye has remained faithful to his calling, teaching, mentoring, and guiding generations of Junior Youth with patience, passion, and deep love for God’s word.

Colleagues described him as a teacher whose commitment has never been limited by his condition. “His life is a testimony that God’s work is not done by sight, but by faith and dedication,” one participant said.

Receiving the award, Mr. Kwakye expressed gratitude to God and the church for the recognition. He encouraged fellow teachers not to grow weary in doing good, noting that every child taught for Christ is a seed for the future of the church.

Presbytery leaders commended him for embodying the true spirit of service and urged others to emulate his example of perseverance and faithfulness.

Mr. Kwakye Nkrumah Samuel’s story stands as a powerful reminder that when God calls, He equips, and no challenge is too great to hinder faithful service.

To God be the glory for a life well lived in His service.

ASANTE AKYEM PRESBYTERY JUNIOR YOUTH TEACHERS HOLD 2026 ASSEMBLY AT KONONGO

Junior Youth teachers from across Asante Akyem Presbytery gathered at Emmaus Congregation, Konongo for their annual Assembly held from 15th to 17th May, 2026. The three-day event brought together 50 participants from the various districts for training, fellowship, and leadership renewal.

The assembly was held under the theme: “Celebrating our heritage, building on the foundation already laid, the responsibility of a JY leader.” Sessions focused on deepening teachers’ understanding of their role in preserving the church’s heritage while equipping the next generation for Christ.

The climax sermon was delivered by Rev. Emmanuel Affoh, District Minister, Bompata, who challenged the teachers to remain faithful stewards in shaping the spiritual lives of the youth.

In line with the Presbytery’s emphasis on holistic ministry, a liquid soap making training session was also organized. The hands-on training aimed to equip teachers with practical skills for economic empowerment and self-reliance, which they can also pass on to their Junior Youth groups.

The program climaxed with the conduct of elections to elect new executives to lead the Junior Youth Teachers’ Association for the next term. The outgone executives were commended for their service, and the newly elected team was charged to build on the foundation already laid. A separate story will feature the new leadership.

Speaking at the close, the Presbytery Youth Coordinator reminded participants of their responsibility as JY leaders to nurture young hearts in faith and service.

Participants left with renewed commitment, practical skills, and a stronger sense of purpose for the work ahead.

To God be the glory for a successful conference.
