*THE LORD, MY HELPER (Part 2)*

*How The Lord Helps Believers*
Text: Psalms 121

_"I lift up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord , the Maker of heaven and earth..”_

The Bible is full of incredible promises of help from the Lord for those who hope and trust in Him: “You who fear him, trust in the LORD—he is their help and shield” (Psalm 115:11; see also Psalm 33:20).
&In Psalm 23, the Lord is our Shepherd, leading and guiding us through all of life’s hardships and joys. In the New Testament, believers in Jesus say, “My help comes from the Lord,” because Christ is their Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep (John 10:11–15).

The Lord helps us in innumerable ways. He forgives our sins and cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9; Psalm 32:5). God gives us new life in Jesus Christ and sets us free from sin (Colossians 2:20—3:17; Romans 6:18). He grants us eternal life (1 John 2:25). The Lord is a faithful friend (John 15:13–14) who calms our fears, takes care of our needs, and supplies us with supernatural peace (2 Timothy 1:7; Philippians 4:6–7). He loves us perfectly and completely, and He never leaves us (1 John 4:18; Romans 8:31–38).

All believers of every generation can proclaim, “My help comes from the Lord!” No matter what trouble we face in this dark world, God is with us, shining His light into the darkness (John 1:4; 2 Corinthians 4:6) and providing everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). Whatever setbacks, hardships, or evil we encounter, our faithful God will transform these challenges to contribute toward our good (Romans 8:28). All of our days, He is our Helper and the God who sustains our lives (Psalm 54:4).

*How To Sustain God’s Help*
We must lift up our eyes above the hills, we must look beyond instruments to God, who makes them that to us which they are.

*DISCIPLINE AT WORK*

*SCRIPTURE READING:* Nehemiah 4:1-23

*EXPOSITION*

In our devotion today, we shift our attention to discipline at our work place. In our Scripture reading, we are exposed to the diligence and the tenacity with which the men assembled by Nehemiah to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem committed themselves to the task at hand. We read that despite the threats they received, they still committed themselves to work, not allowing anything to shift their attention. You may have the desire to work but it takes the one who is disciplined to have significant achievements.

Again, we read that as they worked, they had their swords, spears and bows beside them. They were alert, focused, determined and zealous. What a good example to emulate. The Christian is required to, as much as possible ensure that his or her time and energy during working hours are geared towards the advancement of the organizational goals.

Paul in his epistle to the Church in Colossae admonished them, ”that whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men” (Col 3:23 NIV). As Christians this should be our motivation at our workplace. While some may be involved in non-profitable activities during working hours, the Christian must be committed wholeheartedly to the ideals of the organization: knowing that God is the reason for whatever we do.
This is what Martin Luther King Jnr had to say:
”If a man is called to be street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause and say, here lived a great sweeper who did his job well"..

*SCRIPTURE READINGS:*
Ephesians 5:15-16

*EXPOSITION*

Life provides us with time; meaning, when God gives you life, He has given you the mental capability to take charge of your destiny; and here, how you manage the resource of time cannot be taken for granted.
There is perhaps no area in your life where the self-discipline is more important than in the way you manage your time. Time management is a core discipline that largely determines the quality of your life. Time is perishable; it cannot be saved. It is irretrievable; once it is gone or wasted, you can never get it back.

In our scripture reading, we are admonished to make the most of every opportunity. In other words, time being one of the greatest opportunities in life must not be toiled with, but rather managed efficiently towards the achievement of our goals. It involves consciously buying up those moments which others seem to throw away; steadily improving every present moment, that you may derive the best in every given time.
The question for reflection this morning is: How efficient do you use your time?

In ensuring discipline in the use of our time, we must consciously and deliberately select the most valuable and important things that we could be doing at any given time, and then disciplining ourselves to keep to them. It is important to note that, you require tremendous self-discipline to overcome the procrastination that holds most people back from great success. It is said that "procrastination is a thief of time."
As Christians, we must be wise to know that time cannot be e saved, for it can only be spent. Spend your time wisely to get the best out of life.

WHY 5G CANNOT CAUSE THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

(COVID-19 Lesson 5)

Fellow citizens, yesterday we talked about the conspiracy theories underpinning why some people think the 5G network technology is the cause of COVID-19. Today we want to consider why 5G cannot cause covid-19.

7.1. To begin with, there is no scientific evidence to prove that 5G network is the cause of COVID-19. Scientists and doctors don’t confirm any of the theories associated with covid-19. For instance, how can such a deadly disease killing so many people daily be described as a scam? The disease is very real! Again, seasoned Christian theologians reject the eschatological theory with the simple explanation that the Anti-Christ cannot take over the rulership of the world before the rapture of the saints of God. Relax. All the conspiracy theories have proven to be false, since their proponents cannot back any of their claims with any authoritative scientific evidence.

7.2. Again, the global COVID-19 pandemic has outreached the countries where there is no 5G network cell tower yet. In other words, coronavirus is seen affecting people in countries where the 5G network technology has not been rolled out. How many African countries have rolled out the 5G network? But we still find covid-19 affecting people on our continent. In fact, it is seriously killing people in Canada and Iran which are yet to also roll it out. All these instances prove that 5G network has no connection whatsoever with the COVID-19 pandemic.

7.3. Additionally, after several hoaxes of COVID-19 spreading from the air, scientists have been repeatedly emphasizing the fact that it is not a real airborne disease and human transmission is only possible when an infected individual’s cough, sneeze droplets enter into another through their eyes, nose or mouth. In spite of all these education from credible authorities of this field, it is very worrisome that some people still believe in cat and bull stories spreading mostly through social media, and the misinformation that covid-19 spread through the radio spectrum of 5g networks.

7.4. Furthermore, there is no record of any diseases showing up when the network technology was being tested; neither was any found during its private use by strategic users at military and some government institutions. Take note that some people have been using it safely without any reported health problems. If 5G network produces covid-19, it would definitely have shown up during and after testing periods.

7.5. Most importantly, 5G technology doesn't work through implantation of any chips in human beings as being alleged by some conspiracy theorists. There is no records of chip implants in any of the countries which have rolled out the technology. That chip thing which people are ignorantly blowing out of proportion, has something to do with the subscription of certain IoT (Internet of things) services and not about 5G. It is not even all services of IoT which may require implantation of chips. We shall talk about IoT later.

7.6. It must also be quickly added that corona viruses have been in existence for a longer period of time before the deployment of 5G. Coronavirus has been in existence many years ago, long before even 1G network was rolled out in the 1980s. Maybe the only difference is the fact that covid-19 is just a strand of it, although there is no much difference in characteristics. Even both 5G and IoT have been in operation for some time now but haven't produced Covid-19 characteristics on their users.

In view of all the factual evidence, it is clear that none of the myths surrounding coronavirus and 5G network is true. 5G has got nothing to do with Covid-19, though it may contribute to radiation-related diseases IF ABUSED. Abuse here, does not even mean the spectrum causes disease but rather, the medium or devices through which the technology is dispensed, must not fall below certain communication gadget manufacturing standards. Being now convinced that the conspiracy theories are not true, most reputable news websites and social media such as Facebook and YouTube have started pulling down published content that fueled the myths. There's no need for you to keep on believing in any of them now.
