ELMINA AREA YOUTH MINISTRY HOLDS MEETING FOR ELMINA ZONE
The Elmina Area Youth Ministry held a special meeting for the Elmina Zone on Monday, 7th September 2026, at the Elmina Central Auditorium. The meeting formed part of Ps Francis Cobbinah, the newly appointed Area Youth Leader's visitation to the various zones since assuming leadership of the Area Youth Ministry.
The visitation was intended to provide an opportunity for the leader and his team to familiarise themselves with the youth in the zone, understand their experiences and challenges, strengthen relationships, and, most importantly, ground the young people firmly in Christ.
The meeting brought together young people from the five (5) Districts that form the Elmina Zone, that is, Elmina, Essaman, Abee, Ssnit Flat and Ayensudo, for a time of fellowship, teaching, spiritual exhortation, and interaction with the leadership of the Area Youth Ministry.
The main message was delivered by Ps Francis Cobbinah, on the topic “Making Jesus Famous,” based on Romans 10:14–15. Ps Cobbinah challenged the youth to make Jesus known wherever they find themselves. He explained that making Jesus famous is not simply about speaking loudly about Him or participating in Christian activities; rather, it involves living in such a manner that people can see Christ through the believer's life.
He identified several ways through which believers can make Jesus famous:
1. PEOPLE MUST SEE JESUS: He emphasised that the life of a Christian should reveal Christ to others. The conduct, attitudes, choices, relationships, and lifestyle of believers should point people to Jesus. Young people were therefore encouraged to live as representatives of Christ wherever they go.
2. PEOPLE MUST HEAR ABOUT JESUS: Romans 10:14–15 highlights the importance of preaching and proclaiming the gospel. The youth were encouraged not to keep the message of salvation to themselves but to take every opportunity to tell others about Jesus Christ.
3. MAKE HIS PERSON KNOWN: Making Jesus famous requires intentionally introducing people to the person of Jesus Christ—His character, love, sacrifice, salvation, and Lordship. The youth were encouraged to ensure that their conversations and actions create opportunities for others to know who Jesus truly is.
4. PREACH CHRIST: Ps Cobbinah called on the youth to make Christ the centre of their message. The Church's mission is not simply to promote programmes, personalities, or denominations but to preach Jesus Christ and make Him known to the world.
Ps Francis reminded the youth that Jesus Christ is the Light of the World, and in Him there is no darkness. As followers of Christ, believers are also expected to let their light shine in a world that desperately needs hope, truth, and salvation.
He stressed that the world must see the difference Christ makes in the life of a young person. At school, at work, in the community, among friends, on social media, and in every other sphere of life, Christian youth must demonstrate values that glorify God.
In his concluding charge, Ps Cobbinah called on all the youth to desist from every form of ungodly behaviour that could bring the name of Christ into disrepute. He encouraged them to carefully examine their lifestyles and ensure that their conduct at all times brings glory to Jesus.
He reminded them that they are ambassadors of Christ and that people may judge Christianity by what they see in the lives of believers. The youth were therefore challenged to live intentionally and ensure that the name of Christ is glorified wherever they find themselves.
Among those present at the meeting were Ps Dr Prince Augustine Ababio, Area Executive Member and Essaman District Minister, Ps Augustine Bacho, Ssnit Flat District Minister, all Area Executive Members of the Youth Ministry, Youth leaders and young people from the Elmina Zone. In all the meeting recorded 208 in attendance.
