ENYINASE CHURCH BUILDING IN KISSI DISTRICT DEDICATED TO THE GLORY OF GOD
The Enyinase Assembly in the Kissi District of the Elmina Area of The Church of Pentecost has been dedicated to the glory of God in a colourful and spirit-filled service held on Thursday, 1st October, 2026.
The dedication service was officiated by the Area Head, Apostle Lawrence Oduro-Nyarko, who warmly welcomed all dignitaries to the gathering. In his introductory remarks, he emphasized that, the dedication of a church building is not merely the commissioning of a physical structure but a celebration of God's faithfulness and the collective sacrifices of His people.
Apostle Oduro-Nyarko expressed profound appreciation to the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and the Executive Council for their continuous support towards the growth and development of the church, particularly at the grassroots level. He noted that the completion of the Enyinase Assembly was another testimony of the Church’s commitment to providing conducive places of worship for members across the nation.
He further commended all stakeholders whose sacrifices, prayers, financial contributions, and unwavering commitment contributed to the successful completion of the project.
Speaking on the topic "The Unleashed Christian in a dedicated building with 1 Peter 2:9 as reference, the Ssnit Flat District Minister, Pastor Augustine Bacho, explained that the Church is not merely the physical structure where believers worship, but the community of members who come together to fellowship and serve God. He therefore charged Christians to live in a manner that would not disappoint God in their dealings.
As unleashed Christians, he outlined that believers are expected to fulfil four key responsibilities. Firstly, they must know where they are heading. Heaven must remain their ultimate priority, while earthly achievements and church activities should never replace their pursuit of eternal life (1 Corinthians 9:27).
Secondly, believers must know the God they serve (John 4:24) and demonstrate sacrificial love for Christ and His work, avoiding flimsy excuses in fulfilling their responsibilities.
Thirdly, they must demonstrate holiness in marriage, relationships, friendships, and private life. Finally, every believer must cultivate a strong and consistent prayer life, recognizing prayer as essential for spiritual strength and effective Christian living.
A significant highlight of the service was the presentation of the history of the church building by Elder Paul Arkorful, the District Secretary. Tracing the origins of the assembly, he disclosed that the Enyinase Assembly was established 20 years ago, that is, in 2006 with only a handful of committed believers who used to trek from the town to Ayensudo for service. This necessitated the opening of the Assembly under the leadership of Ps Kingsford Effisah (Rtd), then Essaman District Minister, who was then on sick leave and was relieved by Ps Duodo of the Komenda District. The Assembly was ceded at Komenda District and then later to Kissi District.
Elder Arkorful narrated the church’s journey toward acquiring a permanent place of worship. He explained that over the years, the Assembly met at the residence of a member for three years. Later, a piece of land was released to them during the tenure of Nana Kwadwo Oko, Nsadwo Chief at that time. The sod cutting was done in 2008 by the then Cape Coast Area Head, Aps Kwesi Ackah Baidoo.
In 2017, a grant from Headquarters was released for the construction of a permanent church building under Ps Ernest Boakye Anto, the first district minister after it was created from the Komenda District. The work continued steadfastly under the leadership of the successive ministers. The current minister, Ps Samuel Obeng-Ansong through a request to the Area received grant for the finishing works.
The District Minister, Ps Samuel Obeng-Ansong, on behalf of the assembly, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Apostle Lawrence Oduro-Nyarko for his leadership and various support to the local Assembly. He also acknowledged the contributions of former Area Heads, Apostle Kwasi Ackah Baidoo (late), and Apostle David Terkperh who significantly advanced the project during their respective tenures.
Special appreciation was equally extended to former District Ministers and their wives, namely Pastors William Boakye Agyarko (now Apostle), Kingsford Effisah (Rtd), L.K Duodu (Rtd), Asumadu (late), Ernest Boakye Anto. He was full of gratitude to the current minister Samuel and Mrs Jemima Obeng-Ansong as well as officers and members of the Assembly, for their immense contributions and commitment to the growth of the assembly.
The service was attended by ministers and their wives from various districts within the Elmina Area, church officers, and members from the Kissi District and beyond. Also present was the Elmina Area Deacon, Elder John Otabil Wettey. Adding significance to the occasion was the presence of traditional authorities from the Nsadwo Traditional Area led by Elder Nana Ackon, and his members. Their attendance demonstrated the cordial relationship that exists between The Church of Pentecost and the traditional leadership within the community.
