Your neighbour is anyone to whom you can show sympathy, compassion, kindness, empathy, whether or not they share your culture, beliefs or colour.

In other words, neighbourliness transcends religious, tribal, racial, philosophical ideologies, political affiliation and physical boundaries; it extends to our moral and social responsibilities towards others, whether further away or closer to us (c.f. Luke 10:36:37).

Today is the day of Pentecost. The day is celebrated to commemorate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit as recorded in Acts 2. It is celebrated 50 days and 10 days after the resurrection and the ascension respectively.
Jesus could have asked the Apostles to testify about Him when He was about to ascend into heaven, yet He didn't. The instruction He gave them was very simple: "......that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father......" (Acts 1:4). Though they had seen the resurrected Christ, and His ascension, Jesus knew these two occurrences weren't enough. Hence, they were to wait in Jerusalem for the promise (Holy Spirit)of the Father. This is because when the promise comes, "they (the Apostles) would receive power to be witnesses of Christ Jesus" (Acts 1:8).
The word 'power' in Acts 1:8 is the Greek 'dunamis'. It is from this Greek word 'dunamis' that the following English words 'dynamite', 'dynamo' and 'dynamic' are derived from. Apparently, the Apostles needed this 'power' of the Holy Spirit that would make them dynamic preachers of the Gospel; explode like dynamite in Jerusalem with miracles, healings, deliverances and teachings about the Lordship of Jesus.
The Acts of the Apostles is repleted with loads of supernatural manifestations and occurrences as a result of Apostles being endued with the power of the Holy Spirit. The church of this generation cannot afford to walk in the supernatural without the Holy Spirit.
