*An Advisory Statement from the Board of Trustees (BOT) Church of Christ, Ghana.*

*To All Members*

Greetings Beloved In Christ

The Board of Trustees ( BOT) has taken note of recent developments in the country regarding the Coronavirus pandemic and the recent directives issued by His Excellency the President with the view to containing the spread of same.

2. The BOT appreciates the efforts of the Government to protect the health of citizens and therefore agrees with the measures announced especially the ban on large social gatherings. Which invariably includes our assemblies.

3. The BOT, therefore, recommends that gatherings in our church buildings should be suspended since it has the potential of creating a conducive atmosphere for the spread of the Coronavirus.

4. In view of this, the BOT recommends the following:
• Meetings may be on family basis.
• ALL midweek church activities should be suspended.
• Members can meet in their homes to pray and undertake spiritual exercises on Sunday’s.
• Those who live close to each other may come together to pray and engage in other spiritual upliftment exercises such as observing the Lord’s Supper.
• Such meetings must not be overcrowded ( at least 5/7/8) and should not last beyond 20 minutes.
• It must be solely for the purposes of praying and the breaking of the Bread. ( Sunday)
• Congregational leaders must visit these cells (families) to offer any spiritual assistance that may be required.
• Given the diverse nature of our settings as a church we recommend that local leaderships make arrangements as they see fit for the members to break the Bread on Sunday’s. Only that they should take into consideration the guidelines and precautions on numbers.
• At all these cell or family meetings the health guidelines announced by the Authorities should be strictly observed. No recommended activity should be compromised
• The washing of hands, the use of sanitizers, adequate spacing between members sitting, the avoidance of shaking hands, etc must be strictly observed
• Prayers should be offered at all times to seek God’s protection for all.

Brethren let us all cooperate with the Government’s Directives for our own safety and good health.

God bless.

Board of Trustees,
Church of Christ,
Ghana
