“Confession is the soul’s bath. Even if a room is swept and cleaned, it is necessary to dust it again after a few days. The same applies to the soul.”

Third Sunday of Easter!
Lord Jesus, open the Scriptures to us; make our hearts burn with love when you speak to us. Alleluia!

Here are some pictorial scenes from one of our outstations, St. Peter’s Catholic Church-Assin Dansame, taken during the visit of the media team.

May God bless the Catholic Church and Assin Bereku Parish. Amen 🙏🏾

A 9-year-old girl battling terminal brain cancer had one final wish. Not Disneyland. Not princesses. Not even a miracle. All she wanted was to meet her idol—Pope Leo XIV.

When he received the message, he didn’t just send a video or offer a blessing from afar. He didn’t ask for cameras or media attention. Instead, Pope Leo XIV quietly adjusted his schedule, boarded a plane, and walked into a quiet hospital room.

No grand ceremony. No crowd. Just a spiritual leader sitting gently by the bedside, holding the little girl’s fragile hand and speaking softly—words so full of warmth and compassion that doctors and nurses nearby quietly wiped away tears. For a few brief moments, the outside world seemed to disappear. Titles meant nothing. Status meant nothing. Only humanity remained.

Pope Leo XIV showed his closeness to the patients and staff of the Saint Paul Catholic Hospital in Douala, Cameroon, with a brief private visit on Friday, April 17.

After a moment of reflection in the Hospital’s chapel, the Pope briefly greeted those present in the courtyard and expressed his hope that this visit might be a sign of consolation in their lives.

He imparted his blessing on everyone present and their loved ones, before visiting some patients in their rooms, in particular children and the elderly.

At the end of Mass in Bamenda on Thursday, as Pope Leo XIV was about to get his car to return to the airport, a little Cameroonian girl ran up to the Pope, and he hugged her, paused for a photo, and gave her a Rosary.
