BREAKING NEWS:

The Cape Coast Diocese of The Methodist Church Ghana has today 24th April, 2026 cast lot to elect a new Diocesan Bishop to spearhead the affairs of the Diocese in the next five years. Being filled with and inspired by God's Holy Spirit, the lot fell upon The Very Rev. Samuel Kweku Bassaw. The Diocesan Bishop Elect has served as the Secretary of Synod for the Diocese during the administration of the Rt. Rev. Richardson Andam Aboagye.
We wish the Bishop Elect God's grace and divine direction to lead the Church of God in the way where the righteous go.

Here's the breakdown of the election result:

1. VERY REV. SAMUEL KWEKU BASSAW = 133 61%
2. VERY REV. DR. CHRISTINA OPOKU OPPON =50 22.9%
3. VERY REV. DR. JOHN ABEDU QUARSHIE =35 16.1%

ACROSS THE DIOCESE: Today in our Across the Diocese series, we put the spotlight on Abura North Circuit Sunday school for taking active participation in their just ended Circuit Camp Meeting. We commend the teachers for mobilising their scholars in taking part in the mother church's Camp Meeting.
Indeed, the Sunday School is the mainstay of The Methodist Church Ghana .
