MICHAEL COMMANDEWRY AND LADIES AUXILIARY
No mountain too high to climb
By: Nana Yaw Frempopng
There is no mountain too high to climb though it is not always easy to climb the very long and steep ones. Today, I can look down to the root of the mountain because we are at the peak and can clearly see the hard work , commitment, perseverance and the sacrifices that has elevated us here. Their motive w

as to introduce the Order and to seek membership for the formation. Prof. Paul Hometowu before the commencement of mass. The KSJI also took active part in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist which was very colorful. After the whole celebration, the leaderships of the delegation were given the platform to address the church on their mission. They entreated the church to form the KSJI and this was so exciting to most Parishners because of what they had seen during the procession before the commencement of Holy Mass during the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Rev. Paul Hometowu, the then Parish Priest made an appeal that an ultra-modern altar be constructed for the parish. There was a favorable response instantly with the condition that the church should endeavor to get soldiers/people to protect and defend the altar. The Priest charged Major E. T. Doku to champion the course of the formation of KSJI in the church. He accepted the challenge and started working immediately. Sometime in June, 2013, the KSJI came to the church for a second outreach programme also with good news. They began the construction of the altar which facilitated the formation of KSJI at the parish in the church. Membership drive kept ongoing until the month of December where the required number for the formation was met and we had to fill the forms for the process to commence to acquire a charter. In climbing this mountain, there were so many times some members fell due to the steepness and rough nature. Some had to rest for a very long time before continuing. Some members were very fortunate to be parachuted from the plane to land at the peak. We congratulate all those who have made it to the top by whatever means and also encourage all those who fell along the way to get up and climb again because this time the route has been made very easy to climb. We want to say a very big thank you to the God of Roman Catholics for the strength, grace, favor and His love that he has always shown to us. We cannot forget Rev. Paul Hometowu for the words of encouragement during the rough and steep part of the mountain. Dr. (Wg. Cdr.) Philip Mensah and his assisting Priest Rev. Dieu-Donne Kofi Davor for their support and encouragement throughout especially during our pre-inaugural lectures and preparations to get to the peak of the mountain. We are highly indebted to Capt. Samuel Amoasi and Sis. Gertrude Adjarvon for the so many sacrifices of all that they have made to the formation of this Commandery and Ladies Auxiliary. We will be very ungrateful if we don’t extend our warm hands of gratitude and appreciation to Major John Dadzie, Nobble Sis. Cherie Lawson-Adamu, Noble Sis. Paula Ledi and Noble Sis. Justina Dadzie. We say a special prayer for all the members of the Grand Education Committee for the good work done for transforming us from civilians to soldiers of Christ. To us the officers and members of St. Michael Commandery #814 and Ladies Auxiliary #681 of KSJI, “ayekoo’ and congratulations.
