Contrary to popular belief, Christianity is NOT a white man's religion given to black people by European slave masters.

1. Christianity was in Africa over 1300 years BEFORE the transatlantic slave trade!

2. Egyptian Christians were being persecuted by Europeans because of Christianity (which means Christianity did not originate in Europe). If it did why would Europeans be hostile towards it?

3. The oldest Christian church is the Coptic church in Egypt.

4. Some of the most influential theological minds that shaped Christian thought and orthodoxy were in North Africa (Athanasius aka “the black dwarf”, Augustine, Turtullian, etc).

5. Some of the people who witnessed the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Disciples, were from Egypt and Lybia (Acts 2).

6. In the Bible we have an ETHIOPIAN hearing the gospel in its early foundational stages in Acts 8.

These are verifiable histories.

It’s good to do the work of the Lord, but it’s also important to know why you’re doing it. All the glory must go to Jesus Christ, whether we’re preaching, teaching, evangelizing, singing, or leading out in prayer. God’s Word says, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Colossians 3:17). Let’s ask the Lord to help us accomplish this in every area of our lives. ~ Pastor Isaac Ofori
