SERMON OUTLINE
Theme: Thanksgiving Moves God
Text: Psalm 100:1-4
"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name." (Psalm 100:4)
Introduction
Thanksgiving is not just words we speak; it is an attitude that opens the door for God's presence, favor, and blessings. Throughout Scripture, those who thanked God experienced His mighty hand. When believers develop a lifestyle of thanksgiving, God moves on their behalf.
1. Thanksgiving Recognizes God's Lordship
Psalm 100:3
"Know ye that the Lord he is God..."
Thanksgiving acknowledges that God is our Creator.
It reminds us that everything we have comes from Him.
A thankful heart honors God and gives Him the glory He deserves.
Application: Never take God's blessings for granted. Thank Him daily for life, health, family, and salvation.
2. Thanksgiving Invites God's Presence
Psalm 100:4
"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving..."
Thanksgiving is the key that opens the gates of God's presence.
Complaining pushes us away from God, but gratitude draws us closer.
God's presence brings peace, joy, and direction.
Example: Before presenting your requests, begin with thanksgiving and praise.
3. Thanksgiving Produces Joy and Victory
Psalm 100:1-2
"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord..."
Thanksgiving fills the heart with joy.
Joy gives strength during difficult times.
When we thank God in every situation, we demonstrate faith in His power.
Illustration: Paul and Silas praised God in prison, and God shook the prison with an earthquake (Acts 16:25-26).
4. Thanksgiving Moves God to Act
Jesus gave thanks before multiplying the loaves and fishes (John 6:11).
Jesus thanked the Father before Lazarus was raised from the dead (John 11:41-44).
Thanksgiving demonstrates trust in God even before the miracle appears.
Key Point: When thanksgiving goes up, God's power comes down.
5. Thanksgiving Must Be a Lifestyle
1 Thessalonians 5:18
"In every thing give thanks..."
Thank God in good times and difficult times.
Thanksgiving should not depend on circumstances.
A grateful believer will always see reasons to praise God.
Conclusion
Thanksgiving is a spiritual key that unlocks God's presence, power, favor, and blessings. When we thank God sincerely, we invite Him to move in our lives.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness, mercy, and faithfulness. Give us grateful hearts that will praise You in every season. As we thank You today, move in our lives, open doors, perform miracles, and let Your glory be seen. In Jesus' name, Amen.
