FROM 82 TO ASAFO: THE DEDICATION WAS WORTH THE PUBLICITY

To mark the dedication of Kunuma (82) Unit, we took a stroll with P.A System from the community to Asafo. It was a journey of 2km walk amid pomp and pageantry.

The apostles of various ranks desirously committed to the float that edged through the principal streets of Asafo where the society was concieved in 1992.

As much as it was for publicity stunt, it was for strengthening of muscles and renergize of the base. It culminated at 82, where it all started, in the evening of the Day 2.

KUNUMA EMERGED WINNERS OF THE QUIZ CONTEST AT THEIR UNIT DEDICATION

Over the weekend, the new unit yet to be dedicated at Kunuma won the Quiz Competition that saw the introduction of new rounds.

The bible chapters used were Luke 1–3, Church Doctrine, and Societal History that were segmented into bible trial test, church and societal teaching test, true or false statements and riddles.

At the end, Kunuma won the contest with 110 points, followed by Anpenkro with 96 points and Bekwai garnering 63 points. The rest of the units did not partake in the contest and has since been sanctioned.

Congratulations for winning the contest on your first appearance, Kunuma. You will be great on this course.

TALK: DIGNITY OF THE HUMAN PERSON

On the Day 2, the President of the Society, SNR. AP. Mickey-Mittwoch Praman Kwarteng led session where he facilitated on a talk that dealt with the protection of human life, dignifying people and ensuring the continuity of the human race while safeguarding human freedom and rights.

He bemoaned the practice and the use of contraceptives entreating the apostles to distance from artificial insemination, abortion, euthanasia, surrogacy and the denigration of the human person.

Snr. Ap. Mickey highlighted the need to protect life from conception to death adding that, at no point in time should anyone aid anybody to die as far as life and its inherent dignity is concerned.

Delivering a debate on the topic: SHOULD I DO EVIL THAT GOOD MAY COME OUT FROM IT, the two groups, led by Aps. Elliot Nsonyameye and Benard Asante did justice to the discourse.

They present varied points on why the ends does not justify the means with Ap. Elliot pinpointing that, the path is as vital as the destination whilst Ap. Bernard opposed with the claim that, at times, little evil is needed to protect entire race using Judas’s betrayal of Jesus as a reference.

SJOGS-GH CONCLUDES ANNUAL GENERAL GATHERING AT KUNUMA IN THE ASAFO PARISH

The St. John of God Society-Ghana (SJOGS) undertook a four-day Annual General Gathering (AGG) to the St. Francis Catholic Church, Kunuma 82, an outstation of the St. Agatha Parish.

The AGG also marked the dedication of the Kunuma Unit which has been under tutelage for about 2 years. The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Philip Kwesi Cudjoe graced the occasion with his presence.
