Tuesday: Eighth Week In Ordinary Time

May 26, 2026

Theme: Jesus Christ, Our Eternal Reward!

My dear one, when we sacrifice our lives for Jesus Christ, we gain a priceless treasure and an inheritance that endures forever. Everything we give to God returns to us a hundredfold. Generosity flows from a grateful heart for God's abundant mercy and grace. Do we give freely and generously? And do we give out of love or for a reward?

In 1 Peter 1:10-16, the first reading, Saint Peter reminds us that the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ was revealed and that we must share in it.

In the gospel reading, Mark 10:28-31, Jesus promises a rich reward to all who sacrifice their comfort for His sake.

My dear one, right after a wealthy young man declined to follow Jesus, Peter bluntly asked what he and his brothers would gain, since they had accepted Jesus' call to follow Him unconditionally. Jesus responded with honesty: those who leave all for Him will receive a hundred times more in this life and everlasting life in the age to come. Jesus' disciples may face opposition and persecution from those opposed to Him and His gospel.

Should we be surprised if we lose favor and face ridicule, threats, and harm when standing for truth and righteousness? Instead of material wealth, Jesus promised the blessing and joy of deep fellowship with other believers. No earthly wealth or possession can match the joy of knowing God and the peace and unity He gives His followers.

Jesus wants to fill our hearts with the vision of the heavenly kingdom—a kingdom of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (see Romans 14:17). Do we truly know the joy of following Jesus and serving Him? Let us humbly ask the Holy Spirit to fill us with God's everlasting joy and peace, and with the certainty of His unconditional love for us.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, I desire to follow you as your disciple and to love you with all my heart. Fill my heart with faith, hope, and charity so I can always find peace and joy in your presence. In your holy name, I pray. Jesus, I trust in You!

Monday: Eighth Week In Ordinary Time
(Mary, Mother Of The Church, Memorial)

May 25, 2026

Theme: Mary, Mother Of The Church!

My dear one, on Saturday, March 3, 2018, Pope Francis established a new memorial, “The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church,” to be observed on the Monday after Pentecost Sunday. This special day highlights the profound influence of Mary’s maternal love on the Church.

The first reading from Genesis 3:9-15, 20 contains the “proto-evangelium,” the earliest announcement of Good News, emphasizing the initial struggle between the serpent and the woman and promising the ultimate victory of her descendants.

In the Gospel from John 19:25-34, we see Jesus entrusting His mother to His beloved disciple, symbolizing the ongoing bond between Mary and the Church. This scene encourages us to care for one another with the same selfless love Mary shows.

My dear one, reflecting on Good Friday, we turn to Mary, who was present at Jesus’ crucifixion. We hear Jesus’ words as He gives His final blessing: to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son,” and to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.”

Jesus, knowing His earthly mission was ending, chose to entrust it to others, shaping the Church. Mary, as a guiding mother, helps us discover God’s plan for our lives. Have you recognized the gifts God has given you? Are you using them to make a difference?

May Mary’s presence and prayers encourage you to stay connected to the Church, where together we can do more.

PRAYER
I thank you, Lord Jesus, for your gift of the Blessed Mother. May her prayers and guidance light my way, helping me understand and follow your will with devotion. In your holy name, I pray. Jesus, I trust in You!

Pentecost Sunday, Year A

May 24, 2026

Theme: “Veni, Sancte Spiritus! – Come, Holy Spirit.”

My dear one, Easter celebrates the light and new life that begins with Christ’s Resurrection. Pentecost honors the gifts of the Holy Spirit, marking the start of the new covenant and the Church’s public life. Today concludes the Easter season.

The first reading, Acts 2:1-11, describes the Holy Spirit descending like fire on the early Christians.

In the gospel, John 20:19-23, Jesus appears to His disciples after His resurrection, offers His peace, and grants them the Holy Spirit for the forgiveness of sins.

The second reading, 1 Corinthians 12:3-7, 12-13, reminds us that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are meant for the common good.

My dear one, the creation account shows how God breathed life into Adam. In the New Testament, Jesus breathes life into the new creation again. On Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples with power, initiating a new chapter in salvation history for all nations.

The Holy Spirit both transforms and gives life, as seen in the lives of early Christians. They were changed and emboldened to evangelize. These gifts are not for our own benefit but for serving humanity. We are called to allow the Holy Spirit to work through us in ministry.

Today, on Pentecost, we should ask the Holy Spirit to enter our hearts and minds, transforming us into the image of Jesus Christ. The Spirit’s role always points to Jesus, helping us deepen our understanding of Him.

PRAYER
Come, Holy Spirit, ignite my heart with your fire. Lead me to love the Lord and others. Holy Spirit, I trust in You!

Saturday: Seventh Week of Easter

May 23, 2026

Theme: Look to Yourself!

My dear one, I vividly remember a poem from my primary school days titled “Look to Yourself” by Agnes Esi Mensah. These lines continue to inspire me: 'Don't say, "Grass is green at their feet" For grass is greener at your feet. You have all the richest gifts. Others have not gotten half your gifts. Look to yourself, then, and be great! Use all that you have, and be great.' We possess all the necessary qualities to become the person we aspire to be.

In the first reading, Acts 28:16-20,30-31, Saint Paul addresses the Jewish community in Rome, speaking about his steadfast faithfulness to the God of the Jews. He urges his audience to recognize Jesus Christ as the only hope of Israel.

The gospel passage, John 21:20-25, recounts the life of John, the author of this gospel, who was deeply loved by the Lord Jesus and testified to the truth revealed in his gospel.

My dear one, God's plans for our lives are intentional and purposeful. It is our duty to discover His purpose. While God may not always provide comfort or security, He will offer us opportunities to fulfill His will.

Sadly, as Christians, we often compare our lives to those of others on our spiritual journey. Instead, let us focus on our unique gifts and abilities. As the poem reminds us, “You have got all the richest gifts. Others have not got half your gifts. Look to yourself, then, and be great! Use all that you have, and be great.”

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I thank you for the numerous gifts you have given me. May I always cherish and use them for your greater glory. In your holy name, I pray. Jesus, I trust in You!

Friday: Seventh Week of Easter

Theme: Courageous Messenger Empowered By The Holy Spirit!

My dear one, we all hold a special place in our hearts for those and things we cherish. It is remarkable how far we are willing to go to protect and care for them, even risking our lives. But do we extend that same love and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ?

In the first reading, Acts 25:13-21, Saint Paul's steadfast faith and courage shine brightly, even while imprisoned. His trust in God's plan propelled him to pursue his mission fearlessly.

The gospel reading, John 21:15-19, recalls Jesus' meaningful conversation with Peter. Three times, Peter expressed his love for Jesus, redeeming himself and earning the privilege to lead Jesus' Holy Church.

My dear one, are we courageous messengers of the gospel? Can we, like Saint Paul, remain steadfast amid adversity? The answer depends on the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Without His guidance, we stumble, hindered by fears and shortcomings.

Let us reflect on Saint Paul's extraordinary bravery in the face of trials. Can we imitate his faith and perseverance? Yes, but only through the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit.

As we go through the Pentecost Novena, let us humbly ask for the Holy Spirit's help. What do we need from Him to become brave messengers of the gospel? As Pentecost approaches, let us bring our needs to Him so that, after Mass on Sunday, we are prepared to live guided by His wisdom and strength.

PRAYER
Lord, when overwhelmed by worry and regret, you invite me to trust in your mercy and guidance. Your love is not measured by my failures. Let your grace be sufficient for me. In your holy name, I pray. Jesus, I trust in You!

Thursday: Seventh Week of Easter

Theme: Agents of Unity!

My dear one, a single broomstick can be broken easily, but a bundle of brooms is unbreakable. This highlights the vital importance of unity among Christians, living together as one harmonious body.

In the first reading, Acts 22:30; 23:6-11, Saint Paul takes the chance to testify about Jesus Christ before the Jewish High Council.

In the gospel passage, John 17:20-26, Jesus prays for unity among believers, emphasizing their connection with Him and the Father.

My dear one, we are called to live in unity, just as Jesus prayed for us, assuring us of His continuous care and protection. His deepest wish is for His disciples to become united, providing a strong witness to God's love.

To build the Body of Christ, we must stop gossiping, encourage one another, act humbly, give generously, and support each other. Let us work to foster Jesus' message of unity within our communities.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, grant me the strength to promote unity and love among those I meet each day. In your holy name, I pray. Jesus, I trust in You!

Wednesday: Seventh Week of Easter

May 20, 2026

Theme: Prioritize What Matters Most!

My dear one, remember that true fulfillment in life does not come from wealth, fame, or success, but from living a life that honors God and brings joy to our hearts. Are we spending our time and energy on God's work, or are we expecting something more in return?

In Acts 20:28-38, Saint Paul's selfless love and devotion to God's people stirred deep sorrow and a sense of loss when he left them, showing the power of living a life committed to serving others.

In John 17:11-19, Jesus prayed for His disciples to be united in harmony and love, just as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are united. This reminds us of the importance of living in unity and love.

My dear one, let us follow Saint Paul's example and find joy in serving God, regardless of our circumstances. Are we focusing on comfort and wealth, or are we seeking to honor God in everything we do? If not, let us reexamine our attitudes and set our priorities straight, living a life that reflects our dedication to God.

Our joy is complete when we have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus did not ask the Father to remove us from the world but to keep us in His name, reminding us that our purpose is to live in the world as reflections of God's love.

To be kept in His name means to be protected, provided for, and guided. As believers, we are here to transform the world, living as salt and light. Let us pursue the work God has given us, rather than chasing after fleeting pleasures and worldly wealth, and find true fulfillment in living for Him.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I turn to you as the source of all truth. Teach me your ways and fill me with your wisdom. Help me understand that worldly pleasures are fleeting, and through that understanding, help me embrace your holy Word. In your holy name, I pray. Jesus, I trust in You.

Tuesday: Seventh Week of Easter

May 19, 2026

Theme: No Cross, No Crown!

My dear one, it is truly a blessing to see others basking in God's grace and mercy, singing His praises perpetually. Conversely, when our own lives take a turn for the worse, we often find ourselves questioning God and, at times, sadly distancing ourselves from Him.

In the first reading, Acts 20:17-27, Saint Paul, a devoted servant of God, served the Lord with utmost humility, tears, and unwavering perseverance in the face of trials, never once faltering or surrendering.

In the gospel reading, John 17:1-11, Jesus boldly declared that He had fulfilled the Father's will, pursuing His divine mission unrelentingly and without hindrance.

My dear one, as believers, our journey is not always effortless, and being a Christian does not magically eradicate all problems. Inevitably, we will encounter hardships, turbulent times, sorrows, pains, and tears as a consequence of embracing Christ. Although the Holy Spirit revealed to Paul the impending imprisonment and suffering that awaited him, he remained undaunted, unwavering in his commitment to fulfilling his divine mission.

If God were to reveal to us the trials and tribulations that lie ahead in the coming month, most of us would be overwhelmed, perhaps even preferring death to facing such hardships. My beloved, as faithful Christians, we are called to fix our gaze unwaveringly on Jesus, unrelentingly pursuing our relationship with Him, unencumbered by life's challenges.

Jesus offers prayers for His disciples, including us, that the Father may set us apart, sanctify us, and unite us in His truth. Eternal life is contingent upon cultivating a personal, intimate relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Jesus resides within us through the Holy Spirit. My dear one, are we continually nurturing this personal relationship with Jesus? As we prepare for the coming of the Holy Spirit, let us open our hearts fully, receptively, and unreservedly, ensuring that nothing hinders us from receiving Him.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, having endured the passion, you are now glorified with the Father. Grant me the strength, by your grace, to persevere through all hardships, that I may ultimately revel in the glory of your reign. In your holy name, I pray. Jesus, I trust in You!

Monday: Seventh Week of Easter

May 18, 2026

Theme: Stand Firm in Faith!

My dear one, embracing a conviction means trusting in its power. As a result, you believe that everything it produces is true and perfect.

In the first reading, Acts 19:1-8, Saint Paul firmly defended the faith he preached in Jesus by addressing a challenge faced by early Christians. The issue was that they had not fully embraced the way of Jesus Christ.

In the gospel reading, John 16:29-33, the disciples confidently told Jesus they believed in Him and recognized His omniscience. However, expressing faith in Jesus is just the start.

Are we, my dear one, ready to stand unwaveringly for our faith even under persecution? The disciples believed they had full understanding, prompting Jesus to ask if they truly believed in Him now.

The real test of faith will come, and as Christians, we must be prepared to steadfastly uphold the faith we declare in Jesus. In moments of life’s chaos, let us draw strength from Jesus’ victory on the cross and invite His peace into our hearts.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, give me the courage and perseverance to keep seeking your guidance and listening to your voice, even during trials. In your holy name, I pray. Jesus, I trust in You!

Seventh Sunday of Easter, Year A

May 17, 2026

Theme: Prayer, Our Path to Life!

My dear one, prayer is the key that unlocks every circumstance in life. The readings of the day call us to continually wait on the Lord in prayer. The prophet Isaiah beautifully states: “But those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength..." (see Isaiah 40:31). Do we genuinely wait on the Lord through prayer?

The first reading, Acts 1:12-14, describes how the eleven apostles, Mary, and other disciples spend their time in prayer while patiently awaiting the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

In the second reading, 1 Peter 4:13-16, Saint Peter reminds us that if we suffer, it should be for Jesus’ sake and not for wrongful deeds. He encourages us to offer our hardships as an act of praise and glory to our heavenly Father.

In the gospel passage, John 17:1-11, Jesus prays to His heavenly Father for His followers as He prepares to leave them.

My dear one, Jesus prays not only for His disciples but also for all of us. He prays that God protect His chosen people from Satan’s power, making them holy, pure, and spotless. He also prays for His followers to become renewed and dedicated to God according to the truth.

As a community of believers, we are called to persist in prayer both individually and together. In doing so, we receive support and inspiration from the Holy Spirit. Remember, a family or community that prays together stays united. When we pray as children of God, the unity Jesus prayed for can be fully realized. Let us remain vigilant and pray constantly!

PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, through your Holy Spirit, fill me with an unwavering spirit of prayer, praise, and joy that no earthly trials can diminish. Help me to demonstrate the joy of the gospel and your victory over sin and death to those around me. In your holy name, I pray. Jesus, I trust in You!

Saturday: Sixth Week of Easter

Theme: Embracing New Ideas with Humility!

My dear one, we become confident when we are well-versed in a topic. We speak openly and boldly, free from discouragement or obstacles.

In the first reading, Acts 18:23-28, we learn of a young man passionately devoted to the Lord. Like Paul, Apollos was convinced of the message of Christ.

In the Gospel of John, 16:23-28, Jesus associates Himself with the Heavenly Father. He has opened the way to the Father for us. Now, He no longer needs to ask on our behalf because we understand the Father.

My dear one, let us learn from Apollos, as mentioned in the first reading. He was from Alexandria, a skilled scholar, orator, and debater. Priscilla and Aquila explained the full message of salvation to him because he knew only about Jesus, not His life, crucifixion, resurrection, or the Holy Spirit.

The question is, are we willing to learn and accept new knowledge beyond what we already know? Many of us believe we possess all wisdom and understanding, so we see no need to learn more. But knowledge is always evolving. When Apollos allowed himself to be instructed, his understanding of Jesus deepened, enabling him to preach confidently and prove from scripture that Christ is Jesus.

Likewise, accepting and trusting in Jesus unlocks the mysteries we seek from the Father. Through Jesus, we come to know the Father, and we are co-heirs with Him. My dear one, what are we waiting for? Let us ask the Father for help with anything that troubles us; He cares.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I choose your will today, tomorrow, and always. I desire nothing but your will. As I seek to learn from others about you, help me grow clearer in my understanding of you. In your holy name, I pray. Jesus, I trust in You always!
