As Quakers, we're called to "Let your lives speak" and work towards a more just and compassionate world. That's exactly what's happening in Adzokoe Peki, Ghana, where Kumah and the Centre for Sustainable Communities (CSC) are living out these values.
Kumah, a Ghanaian Quaker, is empowering his community with locally-driven solutions.
Eco-friendly initiatives like agroforestry, mushroom production, and beekeeping are restoring the land and livelihoods.
- *Community-led*: Adanukofe, meaning "community for ideas", is a space for collective problem-solving and peace-building.

As we look ahead, we carry with us a century of faith, friendship, and steadfast service.
Hill House has been a home for peace, reflection, and community for 100 years — and now we step into the future with renewed Light and purpose.

May the next century shine even brighter as we continue building a community rooted in truth, simplicity, and love. 🌿✨

Sustainability is more than a practice at Hill House — it’s part of our identity.
By building with natural and reclaimed materials and nurturing our green spaces, we honour creation and protect what sustains us.

How can you be a better steward today? 🌍

For Friends, worship and work are woven together, one giving life to the other.
The story of VOLU shows how a simple act of service can grow into a movement that transforms lives. From early workcamps in the 1950s to decades of community outreach, education, sanitation projects, and youth leadership, Hill House has lived its testimony of service with quiet courage.

As we look back on 100 years of Quaker witness in Ghana, we honour those humble beginnings and the many hands that carried the work forward.
Faith expressed through service remains our true legacy.

At Hill House Quaker Meeting, service is not an activity, it is a calling.
Since 1956, Friends in Ghana have lived out their faith through VOLU (Voluntary Workcamps Association), mobilising young people to support education, healthcare, sanitation, and community development across the country.

From building clinics and schools to partnering with international peace groups, VOLU has grown into a movement shaped by generosity, humility, and the belief that every act of service carries the Light of God.

Today, we continue this legacy inviting young people, faith groups, universities, and individuals to share their gifts, strengthen communities, and help build a more compassionate Ghana.

Service is love in action.
Service is faith made visible.

For Quakers, service is a way of life.
Through VOLU, young people and partners across Ghana have spent decades building schools, improving healthcare, supporting communities, and spreading hope.
Small acts, shared together, create lasting change. đź’›

For Friends, Integrity is more than honesty — it is about wholeness.
It calls us to let our outward lives reflect our inward convictions, so that truth is not only spoken, but lived.

Quakers believe that there is “that of God in everyone,” and integrity is how we honor that Light through consistency between belief and behavior, faith and practice, word and deed.
In every decision, every conversation, and every act of service, we strive to let truth guide us gently, quietly, and steadfastly.

May our actions always bear witness to what we profess,
and may our lives speak for us.

Happy Monday 🌿

This week, we’re reminded that faith isn’t only something we speak — it’s something we live.

“Faith in Action” means carrying peace, equality, simplicity, and love into our everyday decisions, conversations, and relationships.

May this new week inspire us to practice what we believe — gently, consistently, and with intention.
