✝️⛪ SECOND SUNDAY IN LENT ✝️⛪

📖☀️IN HIS WORD 📖☀️

*Who are you listening to?*

"...Then Peter said to Jesus in reply,
“Lord, it is good that we are here.
If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over them, then from the cloud came a voice that said,
“This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him...”(Matthew 17:1-9).

There are many voices demanding our attention. Some of these voices are offering us juicy solutions to our challenges. Sometimes, we are confused as to which direction to go.

To take us out of our confusion, God instructed us emphatically to listen to his Son, in whom he is well pleased.

Listening to Jesus comes with challenges. For the world will fight the light that comes with following Jesus.😇

Despite the challenges, listening to Jesus comes with abudant blessings and inner peace. Are you looking for miracles, success, fulfilment?
Listen to Jesus!

May we resolve during this season of Lent to listen to Jesus and put his words into action for a positive change in our lives and society....🙏

😇📖IN HIS WORD 😇📖

*Reject the devil's deceptions*

"...Now, the serpent was the most cunning of all the animals that the LORD God had made.
The serpent asked the woman, “Did God really tell you not to eat from any of the trees in the garden?”
The woman answered the serpent:
“We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden;
it is only about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden that God said,
‘You shall not eat it or even touch it, lest you die.’”
But the serpent said to the woman:
“You certainly will not die!
No, God knows well that the moment you eat of it
your eyes will be opened, and you will be like gods
who know what is good and what is evil.”

The woman saw that the tree was good for food, pleasing to the eyes, and desirable for gaining wisdom.
So she took some of its fruit and ate it; and she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it..."(Genesis 2:7-9; 3:1-7). 📖

On this first Sunday of the Lenten season, we are presented with one of the realities of life.
The reality is that we are created by God and are governed by his laws.

The corresponding deception to this reality is that the devil always proposes counter laws to appear that God’s laws deny us some pleasures and joys.
God’s laws are meant for our good and happiness if we obey them. 🤲

The season of Lent offers us a good opportunity to return to God from the deceptions we listened to from the devil. 😇

May the Lord help us in our effort to resist the deceptions of the devil.
Amen 🙏

Ash Wednesday marks the sacred beginning of Lent in the Catholic Church—a powerful season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. ✝️🕊️
As ashes are placed on our foreheads with the words “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return” or “Repent and believe in the Gospel,” we are reminded of our human frailty and our deep need for God’s mercy. 🌿
Ash Wednesday calls us to pause, reflect, and turn our hearts back to God—letting go of sin, renewing our faith, and preparing our souls for the joy of Easter. 💜
A humble beginning… a hopeful journey. Will you walk this Lenten path with a renewed heart? 🙏✨
