GET READY FOR UNUSUAL KINDNESS

August 24, 2026

Acts 28:2
The islanders showed us unusual kindness. They built a fire and welcomed us
In the final chapter of this revelatory book of Acts, Luke draws our attention to a very impressive observation.
After the shipwreck, Paul and the other survivors arrived on the island of Malta.
The inhabitants of the island received them and, in the words of Scripture, “showed us unusual kindness.”
They had never met Paul before nor did not know his apostolic credentials.
Yet, when they saw strangers washed ashore, they responded with compassion.
That immediately lifts my spirit to the recognition that one of the blessings of this life is the blessing of unusual kindness.
Beloved, unusual kindness is kindness that goes beyond what you expected, beyond what you deserve, and beyond what human calculation can explain. Selah
It is when God causes people to treat you better than your circumstances suggest.
It is when strangers become helpers.
It is when people who owe you nothing suddenly become instruments in the hand of God.
It is when doors open without lobbying, opportunities come without manipulation, and favour finds you without announcement. Selah
Unusual kindness is when God moves the hearts of men in your direction.
So let us get ready for unusual kindness this week.
You may not know who God has instructed to help you.
You may not know whose heart God is touching concerning you.
You may not know what conversation is taking place behind a door you have never entered.
You may not know what favour God is arranging in places you have never visited.
But the God who preserved Paul in the storm was also the God who prepared kindness on the other side of the storm.
There is kindness waiting for you on your Malta.
May God cause men to remember you for good.
May strangers become helpers.
May unlikely people become channels of blessing.
May people who have no obligation to you receive you with extraordinary favour.
And may the Lord cause unusual kindness to locate you in unexpected places.
The mouth of the Lord has spoken: GET READY FOR UNUSUAL KINDNESS.
