WALK BY THE SPIRIT
May 23, 2026
Galatians 5:16
“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”
We live in a world deeply bedeviled by vices, human struggles, and character flaws.
Across generations, countless interventions have been introduced to manage the behavioral conflicts of humanity—laws, education, counseling, discipline, and moral codes.
Yet, despite all these efforts, the moral fiber of individuals and societies continues to weaken.
The problem is deeper than behavior; it is rooted in the heart.
But glory be to God for the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
He is heaven’s perfect response to humanity’s inward struggles and outward expressions.
What discipline alone cannot cure, the Spirit can transform.
What rules cannot uproot, grace can overcome.
The Holy Spirit does not merely modify conduct; He changes nature from within.
This is Apostle Paul’s strategy: Walk by the Spirit.”
Walking speaks of relationship, movement, dependence, and continuous fellowship.
To walk by the Spirit means to allow Him to influence your decisions, govern your appetites, shape your reactions, and direct your desires.
It also means the Spirit becomes our inner compass
As a result, instead of being driven by anger, lust, pride, bitterness, or selfish ambition, you are led by peace, wisdom, conviction, and divine restraint.
May our prayer today be Lord, help me to walk by Your Spirit.
Let my steps be ordered by Your presence and let my private battles bow to Your power.
May the Holy Spirit strengthen our inner man, silence every fleshly struggle, and produce in us the beauty of Christ.
We shall not be ruled by our weaknesses; but shall be led by the Spirit.
For when we walk by the Spirit, the flesh loses its mastery. Selah
