THOUGHTS AND SPIRITUAL DYNAMICS
PHIL 4V8, Prov 23v7, Col 3v1-2
Your thoughts are extremely important to your spiritual growth. Words are thoughts verbalised, and we know how impacting they can be, whether for good or evil.
All our thoughts verbalised or not are words to our spirit man. 1Cor 2v11. Therefore, our thought life greatly influences the life of our spirit.
The Holy Ghost teaches us what should dominate our thoughts so that our spirit man will have a conducive environment to grow in Christ.
He said... Phil 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.
THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS;
TRUE
There is the general truth about your life(i.e the scriptures) and there is personal truth about your life(i.e that which God has spoken to you specifically, backed by the scriptures). Think about those things. John 17v17
NOBLE
This is dignity based on where you originate. It is dignity based of indigeneity. Phil 3v20...But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,. Let your thoughts be dominated by your where you come from. Heb 2v11, Gal 4v7, 2Cor 5v20
RIGHT
This is living up to the expectations of the one who sets the rules of true life. Your thoughts should be filled with how to live by God's divine rules for man. PS 119v11, Ps 91v1, Jer 19v13, Gen 4v7.
PURE
Keep your thoughts free from things that defiles you. Do not let defiling thoughts of bitterness, unforgiveness, jealousy, envy etc fill your mind.Heb 12v15, Ps 119v11
LOVELY
Think about things that are acceptable and pleasing even to God. Do not entertain unacceptable and unpleasant thoughts like su***de, inferiority complex, victim complex. Prov 23v7
ADMIRABLE
Think about things that are appreciable. If something is worth appreciating in your life think about it. This will help you appreciate God and the people he used to aid you even in little ways. Luke 17v15-19
EXCELLENT
This is the excellence of Character. Think about how to excel in Christ likeness i.e the character of Christ. Continuously think about how you can become more matured in godly Character. Matt 7v20
PRAISEWORTHY
Fill your thoughts with things to praise and not things to curse. Think about those things that are deserving of praise, excellency in Character, purity , charity etc.
