TOPIC:
THE SIMPLICITY OF JESUS
( Matt. 11:28--29)
▪︎ Jesus wasn't an
attention seeker, but an
impact seeker
(Jn.6:15)
▪︎ His simplicity was to
impact ( John 15:16)
▪︎ He was God incarnate,
Jesus of Nazareth.
(Jn.1:45c)
▪︎... yet the Lord was not an
attention seeker
(Matt. 6: 1)
▪︎ Though the Messiah, He
preferred to be called the
Son of man (Matt.9:27)
▪︎ ....called the Son of David,
instead of the Son of God
(Matt. 1;1; 9:27)
▪︎ The man of Galillee,
instead of the King of the
Jews ( Matt. 26:69; John
6:15) )
▪︎ He healed the lepers,
made the cripples to
walk, restored speech
power to the dumb,
hearing to the deaf,
eyes to the blind, raised
the dead. (Acts10:38)
▪︎ ...yet the friend of
ordinary people like
Lazaraus (Jn. 25:2)
▪︎ He was the word by
which all things were
created (Col.1:16)
▪︎ ... yet the friend of little
children ( Matt.19:13;
Mk.10:7)
▪︎ The Lord sought impact,
not attention (John 9:4)
▪︎ Jesus had supreme and
perfect patience for
sinful humanity ( Mk
10:45)
¤ Patience for poor
mothers (Mk 10: 13)
¤ Patience for little children
( Mk.10:14--16)
¤ Patience with His
friends, despite their
short comings (Jn.
20:24--29)
¤ Patience with His
enemies ( Luke 23:24)
¤ His perfect patience was
His perfect power
Are you simple like Jesus or an attention seeker in your Church. Do you boast or brag to people? Do you talk to impress, dress to catch the eye, or do things to steal the show in the house of God. Can you admit complexity than simplicity. Are you truly simple like Jesus? Take all Church members on your heart.
Lesson.
------------
The world needs your divine simplicity as Jesus. So come down from your haughty heights and have a human face and a human touch in your relationships.
