On Sunday, 10th May, 2026, as a church we seized the opportunity to honour and celebrate all mothers at Discipleship Center Assemblies of God Church.

Our mothers continue to sacrifice greatly for their families, the church community, and the nation at large. Truly, mothers are special gifts to the human race, worthy of love, honour, and appreciation.

We pray that God will bless all mothers, grant them long life, good health, and the joy of seeing the fruits of their labour. Congratulations to all mothers, and Happy Mother’s Day to you all!

As a family, we gathered together on the 3rd of May, 2026, to celebrate the faithfulness of God and how far He has brought Discipleship Center Assemblies of God Church after five months of existence as a church.

In agreement with the words of David in Psalm 116:12-13, we united in thanksgiving, testimonies, and worship unto our God. If the Lord had not been on our side, the church would have been wiped out from Otinibi New Site. But by His mercy, grace, and sustaining power, He has granted us victory.

It was an All White Sunday Service, signifying the victory and triumph the Lord has handed over to His church. Truly, it is good to praise the Lord, and may His holy name be exalted forever!

On 14th April, 2026, God graciously made a way for us to inaugurate and commission the Temple Choir of Discipleship Center Assemblies of God Church. The foundation members of the choir are Asafomaame Mrs. Aseye Afu (Leader), Mr. Gideon Adjei, Sis. Rita Kwao, and Sis. Elikplim Anita.

Against all odds, these faithful brethren accepted the call to begin the music ministry of the church with dedication and zeal. We pray that the good Lord will prosper each member of the Temple Choir and continually anoint them to minister to the glory of His holy name.

It was with great joy and relief that we dedicated our public address system—a rechargeable speaker and two microphones—to the glory of God at Discipleship Center Assemblies of God Church. For over four months since Discipleship Center Assemblies of God Church commenced worship services in Otinibi New Site, church meetings had been held without microphones and speakers, yet our gatherings were always filled with joy and hope, believing that God would supply all our needs.

By the grace of God, on the 14th of April, 2026, a kindhearted philanthropist whose wish is to remain anonymous was touched by our situation of worshiping without sound equipment and generously gifted the church its first speaker and microphones. May the Lord richly reward this act of kindness and bless the giver and generations yet unborn.

It was such a great blessing watching the children showcase their God-given talents and potentials. Our prayer is that these little ones will grow to impact and win their generation for Christ.

On 22nd March, 2026, under the leading of the Holy Spirit, a Mini Children’s Day celebration was held at Discipleship Center Assemblies of God Church, Otinibi New Site. During the second quarter of the year 2026, the leadership of Discipleship Center Assemblies of God Church, Otinibi New Site, organized its first All Church Workers’ Fasting and Prayer Retreat. The program was well attended and served as a moment of spiritual renewal, dedication, and empowerment for all church workers.

The retreat brought together committed labourers in the house of God who gathered to wait upon the Lord through fasting, prayer, worship, and fellowship. It was truly a day of divine encounters and impartations as the Holy Spirit ministered to the workers, equipping and strengthening them to carry out the work of God in God’s own way.

Present at the waiting program were Pastor Christopher Afu, Asafomaame Mrs Aseye Afu (Chef for the program), Bro Emmanuel Dadzie (Chief of Staff), Sis Christiana Appiah (Acting Secretary, Treasurer, and Chief Usher), Mrs Mary Sowu (Women’s Ministry Leader), Sis Rita Kwao (Prayer and Children’s Ministry), Sis Milkah Nartey (Chief Protocol), Bro Hayford Goka (Media and Sound Engineering), Sis Mariama Ibrahim (Protocol and Ushering), Mr Gideon Adjei (Praise and Worship leader), Sis Jewel Serwa Apeatu (WM Secretary) and the youngest church worker, Bro Kendrick Nii Quaye (Sound Engineering).

Indeed, the retreat marked another important milestone in the spiritual growth and development of the church as the workers were empowered afresh for faithful and effective ministry.

Drawing inspiration from Gospel of Luke 4:1–2,14, where Jesus began His earthly ministry with fasting, prayer, and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, the leadership of Discipleship Center Assemblies of God Church, Otinibi New Site embraced the same spiritual model in laying a strong foundation for the work of ministry. In the first quarter of the year 2026, the Pastor-In-Charge of the church, Pastor Christopher Afu, led the key leaders of the church to a one-day fasting and prayer retreat.

The retreat was a moment of deep spiritual encounter, fervent intercession, and waiting upon the Lord. It was indeed a great time of prayer, and the Holy Spirit visited in an awesome manner, speaking expressly concerning His will and direction for the new church. Through the retreat, the leadership was spiritually refreshed, empowered, and strengthened to labour effectively in the vineyard of the Lord.

Present at the maiden quarterly key leaders’ fasting and prayer retreat were Pastor Christopher Afu, Asafomaame Mrs Aseye Afu, Bro Emmanuel Dadzie, Mrs Mary Sowu, Sis Rita Kwao, and Sis Christiana Appiah.

On 25th January, 2026, the mothers from the Women’s Ministry of Good Shepherd Assemblies of God Church, Amrahia paid a surprise visit to their baby church, Discipleship Center Assemblies of God Church, Otinibi New Site. It was a moment of great joy and encouragement as almost all the executives and deaconesses worshipped and fellowshipped with us for the very first time.

Like caring and loving mothers, they came to see how we were faring, cheer us on in the work of ministry, and also conduct a needs assessment of the new church in order to identify ways through which they could support the ministry. Their presence, words of encouragement, and show of love greatly strengthened and inspired the members of the church.

We are deeply grateful to Mama Olivia Soglo, Women’s Ministry President; Mama Janet Akoto, Women’s Ministry Organizer; Mama Gifty Adehe, Women’s Ministry Treasurer; Mama Hannah Tei Nobi, Deaconess and Liaison Officer; Mama Evelyn Adamson, Deaconess; Mama Peace Nartey, Former Deaconess; and Mama Georgina Nkansah, Former Vice President of the Women’s Ministry, for their memorable maiden visit.
