The House of God and Kingdom Financing

“God’s work on earth requires faithful stewardship.”
Genesis 28:22 (KJV) “And of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.”

God has always worked through people to accomplish His purposes on the earth. Throughout God’s Word, the advancement of God’s house, the spread of His Word, the care of His servants, and the blessing of His people have involved faithful stewardship of resources entrusted to believers. After his encounter with God at Bethel, Jacob responded by dedicating the tenth of all God would give him. His commitment was not an attempt to earn God’s favour but a response to God’s covenant faithfulness, provision, and promises. Jacob recognized that everything he would receive ultimately came from God and should be honoured accordingly.

Apart from the times of the patriarchs and the law, Malachi 3:10 reveals that God instructed Israel under the prophetic dispensation to bring their tithes into His house so there would be provision for His work and ministry. Under the New Covenant, Jesus affirmed the principle of faithful stewardship while emphasising that the giving of tithes and offerings must flow from a heart aligned with the weightier matters or the most important things of the kingdom; justice, mercy, faith, and love (Matt. 23:23). This means tithing is weighty or important. Kingdom financing is broader than money. It involves recognising God as the Source of all increase and using our resources, abilities, opportunities, influence, and finances to advance His purposes. Jesus also taught that faithfulness in material resources, that is “the least”, demonstrates readiness for greater spiritual riches and responsibilities, that is “in much” (Luke 16:10–13). When believers steward God’s resources faithfully, they become channels through which His Kingdom purposes advance on the earth.

PRACTICAL KEYS
Beloved, here is how to become a faithful Kingdom steward:
1. Recognize God as Your Source: Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV) “It is he that giveth thee power to get wealth.” Every blessing, opportunity, ability, and increase originates from God. A grateful heart produces faithful stewardship.
2. Honor God With Consistent Stewardship: Genesis 28:22 (KJV) “I will surely give the tenth unto thee.” Tithing, giving, serving, and supporting God’s work are practical ways of acknowledging His Lordship and participating in His Kingdom purposes. Practice the weightier matters without leaving tithing undone (Matt. 23:23)
3. Use Resources for Eternal Impact: Luke 16:10 (KJV) “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.” Steward finances, gifts, relationships, and opportunities wisely. What is invested in God’s Kingdom produces lasting fruit beyond this life.

PRACTICE MOMENT
Pray
Father, thank You for every resource You have entrusted to me. Teach me to steward faithfully, honor You with my substance, and participate joyfully in advancing Your Kingdom, in Jesus’ name.

I declare that God is my Source and Provider. I steward His resources faithfully and use my life, gifts, and finances to advance His Kingdom purposes.

Do I truly recognize God as the Source of all I have?
Am I using my resources in ways that advance God’s Kingdom?

Building Memorials Before God

“Spiritual milestones should never be forgotten.”
Genesis 28:18–19 (KJV) “And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar… And he called the name of that place Bethel.”

God often instructs His people to remember His works. Throughout Scripture, memorials were established to preserve the testimony of God’s faithfulness and to remind future generations of His mighty acts. A memorial is anything intentionally set apart to remember God’s covenant, encounters, deliverance, provision, or instruction. After his encounter with God at Bethel, Jacob set up a pillar and named the place Bethel. What began as an ordinary stone became a lasting reminder of God’s presence, promises, and covenant purposes (Gen. 28:18–19). Jacob understood that divine encounters should not be forgotten.

The same phenomenon appears when Israel crossed the Jordan River. God instructed Joshua to set up twelve stones as a memorial so future generations would remember how the Lord miraculously brought them into their inheritance (Josh. 4:6–7). The memorial preserved the testimony of God’s power long after the event had passed. In the New Testament, Cornelius became a living example of a memorial before God. The angel told him, “Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God” (Acts 10:4). His consistent devotion, generosity, and prayer life attracted divine attention and opened the door for salvation to reach his household. Under the New Covenant, believers build memorials through testimonies, thanksgiving, faithful obedience, giving, prayer, worship, and recording God’s dealings in their lives. It is unrighteousness to forget God’s works. Sadly, many church members forget what God and His ministers do for them. Many churches forget the great things God has done for them without cherishing them. Remembering God’s faithfulness strengthens our faith, preserves our gratitude, and prepares us for future victories (Ps. 78:1-8)

PRACTICAL KEYS
Beloved, build memorials that keep God’s faithfulness before you:
1. Remember and Record God’s Works: Joshua 4:6–7 (KJV) “That this may be a sign among you.” Keep a record of God’s answers, breakthroughs, and encounters. What you remember strengthens your faith for what God will do next.
2. Honor God Through Thanksgiving and Worship: Psalm 103:2 (KJV) “Forget not all his benefits.” Regular thanksgiving preserves a heart of gratitude and keeps your focus on God’s goodness rather than life’s challenges.
3. Build Lasting Memorials Through Faithful Service: Acts 10:4 (KJV) “Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.” Consistent prayer, generosity, service, and obedience are the real ways to be thankful to God and create lasting testimonies that honor God and impact generations.

Father, enable me never to forget Your faithfulness. Teach me to build memorials of thanksgiving, obedience, and devotion that continually honor You, in Jesus’ name.

Honouring Christ Through Tithing

“Tithing is not merely about giving a tenth; it is about honoring Christ as Lord, Source, and eternal High Priest.”
⁠Hebrews 7:8 (KJV) “And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.”

One of the greatest revelations about tithing in the New Testament is that it is connected to Jesus Christ Himself. In Hebrews 7, the writer explains that Melchizedek, who received Abraham’s tithe, was a prophetic picture of Christ, our eternal High Priest. Hebrews 7:8 contrasts two realms: “here” refers to the earthly realm or the old covenant, where mortal men receive tithes as part of ministry administration. “There” points to the heavenly reality or new covenant of grace represented by Melchizedek and ultimately fulfilled in Christ. While people may physically handle tithes on earth, God sees them as being received by Christ Himself, the High Priest of this new covenant, who lives forever. This truth elevates tithing beyond a financial transaction. It becomes an act of worship directed toward the risen Lord. When Abraham gave to Melchizedek, he was honouring God’s priest. In the same way, believers honour Christ through faithful stewardship and covenant giving.

Colossians 1:18 declares that Christ is “the head of the body, the church… that in all things he might have the preeminence.” The word preeminence means first place. Tithing is one practical way believers acknowledge Christ’s lordship and give Him first place in their resources. Jesus Himself affirmed the principle of tithing in Matthew 23:23. While rebuking the Pharisees for neglecting justice, mercy, and faith, He said, “these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.” Christ did not condemn tithing; He taught that it should be accompanied by a righteous heart and godly character. Beloved, tithing is ultimately about Christ. It is a declaration that He is first, that He is our Provider, and that all we have belongs to Him. When we honour Christ with our substance, we acknowledge His preeminence in our lives.

PRACTICAL KEYS
Beloved, here is how to honour Christ through your giving:
1.⁠ ⁠Give with Christ in view: Hebrews 7:8 “There he receiveth them.” See your giving as an act of worship to the living Christ, your High Priest.
2.⁠ ⁠Give Christ first place: Colossians 1:18 “That in all things he might have the preeminence.” Let your giving, offerings and use of resources show His lordship in your life.
3.⁠ ⁠Combine giving with godly character: Matthew 23:23 “These ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.” Practice giving or generosity together with faith, mercy, and obedience.

Tithing Before the Law

Tithing did not begin as a legal obligation but as a faith response to God’s blessing and covenant relationship.
Genesis 14:18–20 “And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine… and he gave him tithes of all.”

Many people associate tithing exclusively with the Law of Moses. However, Scripture reveals that tithing existed long before the Law was given. The first recorded mention appears in Genesis 14 when Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils to Melchizedek, priest of the Most High God. Abraham’s tithe was not demanded by law, enforced by regulation, or motivated by fear. It was a voluntary act of faith, gratitude, and honor after a remarkable victory. Abraham recognized God as the source of his success and responded by returning a tenth to Him, which was the first and the best, before they could think of sharing any b***y. Tithing therefore began as an expression of covenant faith rather than religious duty.

The writer of Hebrews later unveils the deeper significance of this event. Melchizedek was a prophetic picture of Christ, our eternal High Priest. Hebrews 7:8 declares, “Here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.” Abraham’s tithe therefore pointed beyond an earthly priesthood to an ongoing covenant relationship with God through Christ. The principle remains relevant today. God blesses His people, and they respond with revelation, worship, gratitude, and faithful stewardship. Tithing reminds us that God is our Source, Owner, and Provider, keeping our hearts free from pride and dependence on wealth. Abraham’s example also stands within a larger pattern of a secret covenant giving seen from Abel and Noah to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Later, God established tithing for all children of Israel under the Law because it was a key to abundant wealth; and God declared it an enduring ordinance among His covenant people (Mal. 3:7–14).

PRACTICAL KEYS
Beloved, here is how to walk in Abraham’s example of faith:
1.⁠ ⁠Recognize God as Your Source : Genesis 14:19 “Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth.” Acknowledge that every blessing, increase, and victory comes from God.
2.⁠ ⁠Respond With Worship and Gratitude : Genesis 14:20 “And he gave him tithes of all.” Let your giving reflect thanksgiving, honor, and covenant appreciation to God.
3.⁠ ⁠Practice Faith-Filled Stewardship : Hebrews 7:8 “There he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.” Give your tithe with the awareness that you are honoring the living Christ, your eternal High Priest.

Seedtime and Harvest Shall Never Cease

“Every harvest in life can be traced back to a seed that was sown.”
Genesis 8:22 (KJV) “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease”

After Noah offered his sacrifice to God, the Lord established one of the most important principles governing life on earth: “seedtime and harvest… shall not cease.” This was not merely an agricultural law. It was a kingdom principle designed to govern increase, multiplication, and productivity in every area of life. God’s kingdom operates through sowing and reaping. Every harvest begins with a seed. Farmers sow seeds to reap crops. Parents sow love, training, and discipline to reap godly children. Students sow thoughts, study and diligence to reap knowledge and success. Believers sow prayers, acts of obedience, generosity, and service to reap spiritual and material blessings. The principle is simple: what we sow determines what we reap, and how we sow influences the size of the harvest. No one expects a harvest where no seed has been planted. Likewise, we should not expect spiritual, financial, relational, or ministerial increase where no seeds have been sown.

The Apostle Paul reinforced this truth when he wrote, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” (Galatians 6:7). God designed life to respond to seeds. Good seeds produce good harvests. Consistent seeds produce consistent harvests. Generous seeds produce abundant harvests. This principle also teaches patience. Between seedtime and harvest comes a season of growth. Many people become discouraged because they do not see immediate results. Yet every farmer understands that harvest follows process. The seed must be planted, nurtured, and given time to grow. Beloved, God has placed seeds in your hands—your mind, time, talents, finances, prayers, faith, words, and acts of kindness. Do not despise small beginnings. Continue sowing the right seeds in faith. In due season, God will cause a harvest to manifest.

PRACTICAL KEYS
Beloved, here is how to cooperate with God’s law of seedtime and harvest:
1.⁠ ⁠Sow intentionally: Genesis 8:22 “Seedtime and harvest... shall not cease.” Identify the harvest you desire and sow the right seeds toward it.
2.⁠ ⁠Sow good seeds consistently: Galatians 6:7 “Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Sow faith, prayers, obedience, generosity, diligence, and love daily.
3.⁠ ⁠Wait patiently for your harvest: Galatians 6:9 “In due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Do not quit during the growing season.

Father, help me to sow the right seeds consistently and give me grace to wait patiently for the harvest You have promised, in Jesus’ name.

I declare that I am a faithful sower. I sow good seeds through meditation, obedience, faith, prayer, diligence, and generosity. My harvest shall surely come in God’s appointed time, in Jesus’ name

Wisdom For Covenant Practice
Apostle Ernest Ohene

“Kingdom abundance is not only a promise to confess, but a covenant wisdom to practice.”

James 1:22 (KJV) “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only.”

God’s covenant of abundance is more than a promise to confess through prayer and fasting alone. It is a covenant wisdom that must be practiced daily. This is a required feature of the covenant of abundance and prosperity. Through Christ, believers have become heirs of Abraham’s covenant blessings, but those blessings manifest through obedience, hard work and diligence, giving, stewardship, and action. God promised Abraham blessing and increase in Genesis 12:1–3. Yet Abraham did not only pray; he obeyed God, moved when instructed, practiced generosity, and walked by faith consistently. Covenant abundance therefore requires practical obedience.

Prayer and fasting bring revelation, spiritual strength, and direction. However, they alone cannot produce the full manifestation of abundance without corresponding actions (James 2:17, 21-24). Prayer may reveal the seed to sow and give grace to nurture what God has placed in your hands. Jesus taught in Matthew 13:11–12 that kingdom mysteries work progressively. Not every key opens every door. Faith, prayer, obedience, diligence, wisdom, generosity, and stewardship must work together for lasting kingdom prosperity.

PRACTICAL KEYS
Beloved, here is how to practice covenant abundance:
1. Combine prayer with obedience: Genesis 12:4 “So Abram departed.” Abraham moved when God spoke.
2. Practice covenant principles daily: Galatians 3:29 “heirs according to the promise.” Walk in giving, diligence, stewardship, and faith consistently.
3. Apply multiple kingdom keys together: Matthew 13:11 “it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom.” Prayer, wisdom, faith, and action must work together.
4. Act on revelation received: James 1:22 “be ye doers of the word.” Revelation without practice produces little manifestation.

PRACTICE MOMENT
Pray
Father, help me to practice Your covenant wisdom faithfully every day, in Jesus’ name.

Declare in Faith
I declare that I walk in wisdom, obedience, diligence, and covenant practice. God’s abundance manifests in my life.

Reflect
Am I practicing the principles I pray about?
Do faith and obedience work together in my life?

Pray to Receive Salvation
Father, thank You for Jesus Christ who died and rose again for me. I confess Him as Lord and receive eternal life, in Jesus’ name.

Pray to be Filled with the Spirit
Father, fill me with Your Holy Spirit to speak in new tongues and walk in His power. Holy Spirit enable me to walk in wisdom, obedience, and faithful covenant practice, in Jesus’ name.
