Act 1:24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all [men], shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

Indeed, God rules in the kingdom of men. Despite the power given to humanity to rule this world, exercising our mandated authority with God's support for every action taken, gives the victory we crave for.

The time finally arrived for scriptures to be fulfilled and this is in relation to the occupying of Judas Iscariot's position. In verse 23, two faithful disciples were nominated; Joseph and Matthias. These two disciples were involved in Jesus early ministry and suffered through with him. I'm sure every member of at least the 120 group, has a special love for each of the nominated disciples. Left to the group, they would have voted based on affection, academic qualification, stature, etc. But wisdom prevailed; implying that when it comes to doing God's work, the selection of vineyard labourers is best done by the owner of the vineyard. Not that alone, it is God's desire to be involved in any area of operations in our decision making; concerning jobs, marriage, academic work, travels, renting of apartments, place of worship, etc.

In verse 24, they prayed a powerfully worded prayer, asking the Lord to make his choice. Even though they voted, the choosing of Matthias was not human decision, but God's predestined will.

See the stress we are in because we did not acknowledge him in our plans. Are you going to make another decision without him? If you don't bring him into the picture, he stands aside and look on, since he does not impose his will on our will.

May you always pray and ask for his wisdom in whatever decisions you want to make and he will assist you with the best. For he knows the end from the beginning. Shalom

Matthew 17:21 But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.

One other translation given to this scripture which makes sense to me is this [Howbeit, this lineage of demons does not go out but by prayer and fasting].

From Jesus own mouth, some challenges in a Christian's life can only be resolved by fasting and praying. It therefore implies that some demons, without fasting will quickly obey your commands, but others will not, unless you applied the auxiliary power of fasting!

Putting pieces together we can authoritatively conclude that the successful walk with God by the men and women of old, did have much to do with prayer and fasting. For instance, Daniel in chapter 9 verse 3, said he took to prayer and fasting, when he picked a Rhema in the words spoken by Jeremiah about the number of years the sword of judgement will hang over Jerusalem.

Furthermore, Daniel's love for fasting is again demonstrated in chapter 10 verse 3. The reason for the fast has not been stated, but it yielded a powerful response from heaven.

To rebut the lies of demons, that have been employed to fight christians that, God does not answer prayers. As the angel Gabriel said in Daniel 9:23, the same was said by another angel in Daniel 10:12. For the two verses confirmed what we hold unto, that God is a prayer answering God, and will not delay in response.

A careful study on Daniel shows why he stood tall in national and global affairs of his days. He was selfless in his worship and servitude to God. This was the reason behind the words used on him by the angel "a man greatly beloved". Another translation puts it this way, " you are very precious to God ".

Child of God, you are greatly beloved and very precious to God if you should emulate the spiritual life of Daniel and other great men and women of God. For mysteries will be revealed and no demonic power will withstand your presence.

Finally, pray for the grace and strength as you go through your fast. Also, make fasting and prayer a regular service to God throughout the year and the rest of your life. For many unresolved situations in our lives have been so, because of our poor attitudes and satanic-fed lies about fasting and spraying.

May the face of Yahweh be strong over you, as you always stand in his presence. Shalom

Nehemiah 2:1 Early the following spring, in the month of Nisan, during the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes’ reign, I was serving the king his wine. I had never before appeared sad in his presence.

Nehemiah 2:2 So the king asked me, “Why are you looking so sad? You don’t look sick to me. You must be deeply troubled.”Then I was terrified,

Nehemiah 2:4 The king asked, “Well, how can I help you?”With a prayer to the God of heaven,
Nehemiah 2:5 I replied, “If it please the king, and if you are pleased with me, your servant, send me to Judah to rebuild the city where my ancestors are buried.”

In Nehemiah 1:1 and in the month of Kislev, he entered into fasting and praying for Jerusalem and his people.

In chapter 2:1 and the month of Nisan which is believed to be about the fifth month from Kislev the answer to his prayers came.

The answer to your prayers are always coded with time. In Genesis 18:10, the Lord said to Abraham, “I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life, and lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son”.

Every answer to a prayer is embedded in the womb of divine time. Don’t get shaken if you don’t see immediate answers. For surely they shall come to pass as the Lord has destined.

Have you be fasting and praying for God’s intervention in a matter? Note this, your request has been answered. Just wait patiently with faith and you shall see the goodness of our God.

Pray therefore that let the will of God be done and in accordance with the times programmed in answer to my prayer requests. Shalom

2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers [do not make mismated alliances with them or come under a different yoke with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership have right living and right standing with God with iniquity and lawlessness? Or how can light have fellowship with darkness?

Amos 3:3 Can two people walk together
without agreeing on the direction?

As believers, we are not allowed to be in association with whatever behaviour that is abominable to God. Do we really get this very clear?

Let me give a quick example for easy understanding. Years ago, I worked with a police officer with the BNI who was very fond of me. Our working relationship was very good to the extent that he was ready to help engraft me into the BNI, but I refused and wanted to remain with the CID.

One drawback on this officer was that he was suffering from hernia, that developed after joining the service. He refused to have it operated because he saw it as a family inheritance. And also for the fear of dying if operated on, since it runs through the family.

It came to a time for a higher training in the police college that gives a higher rank and the hernia was a drawback to his advancement.

To be able to go to the staff college, he boldly went for the operation and did not die. How can two walk together, except there is an agreement. He nearly lost his promotion, but for the operation to remove the hernia.

Many of us are tolerating spiritual hernia that wouldn't allow us to move forward. Many Christians are yoked to bad habits; sexual perverseness, gossips, lies, deceits, lukewarmness, wrong associations, drunkenness, fornication, etc. These shackle our advancement in the things of God. Bible says let us lay aside every sin and weight that cling closely to us, so that we can run the race.

Surprisingly, these holdbacks have received out tacit endorsement! If you are not pleasing God, it means you've actually decided not to please him, with the agreement of a deviant spirit. You have the power to say no to any entanglement that displeases God.

The first case of human conjoining was the Siamese twins. They lived over 40 years unseparated till death. The story was that one was a heavy smoker and drinker, and the other was not. The heavy smoker and drinker died first and about two hours time the other twin died. The twin with a terrible behaviour hastened the death of the other twin.

From the narrations above, every behaviour that does not please God, destroys anyone it's yoked to. Do not be unequally yoked to evil. But be yoked to Jesus whose yoke is better. He makes life better for you when yoked to him.

May the anointing of God break any yoke that is negatively impacting on your service to the most high God. As you free yourself in Jesus name, may you see a huge leap in your life to the glory of God. Shalom

Topic: Submitting To A Spiritual Figure

Introduction:
One of the easiest and quickest ways to become influential to submit to a spiritual figure.

Definition:
A spiritual figure is one who has walked in purity and righteousness with God and knows the mind of God. They give directions and instructions to bring you into alignment with God for an influential life.

We shall consider the following biblical personalities as case studies in relations the topic:

1. Samuel had Eli as spiritual figure and became influential

2. David had Samuel as spiritual figure and became influential

3. Moses had Jethro as spiritual figure and became influential

4.Esther had Mordecai as spiritual figure and became influential

Subtopic: Samuel had Eli as spiritual figure and became influential

Scripture:
1 Samuel 3:8-9 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.
Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

Several people entered the corridors of power and became influential because of their submission to divine instructions and obedience to a spiritual figure in their lives.

The scripture above says "And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.
Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth."

It would take a spiritual figure to make meaning of the various voices in life, and give directions as to how to respond to them.

Many people are confused, disillusioned and lost from their destiny because they didn't get the right interpretation to the voices they heard.

Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei always says, "there is nothing like absolute freedom in life."

Yes! You can not live your life in absolute freedom, with no authoritative figure in your life.

You don't submit to anyone, you don't take instructions from anyone, no one points you to the right direction. You are your own boss. Don't expect to have influence when you walk alone

One of the most dangerous people on this Earth are people with no spiritual figure over them. They have no source, no point of reference, and traceable background.

Few spiritual figures you must have and submit to, to become influential:
1.The Almighty God
2.Your Pastor
3.Your Parents
4.A family member who is spiritual
5.A church member who is spiritual

PRAYER:
Dear Jesus, help me to be submissive and obedient to a spiritual figure to become influential.

From today, I receive the grace to be influential by submission O Lord Jesus! Thanks. In your name I pray. Amen!

Lam 5:7 Our fathers have sinned, [and are] not; and we have borne their iniquities.

Many Christians don't believe in the consequences of the sins of our fathers on our lives. We quote a few scriptures of the New Testament for cover and exonerations. But I believe that your deliverance from the sins of your fathers must endure some levels of battles and justifications, depending on the level of evils committed by your ancestors.

The prophet Jeremiah was lamenting about the sufferings on the Israelites because of the sins committed by their dead fathers. Why do you suffer the evils of your ancestors?

To answer this, let's look at another question. Why are we dying because of Adam's sin? When Adam was sinning, you were not there, but bearing the consequences today.

The effects of sin of the fathers is very real. In my working life as a police officer, I have come across siblings who were terrible thieves. Their father had properties out of thievery. A beautiful daughter kept stealing and was covered in national dailies leading to the collapse of her marriage to an army officer with whom she had two children. A senior brother often get jailed and the most senior was shot dead in Accra about 5 years ago. This robber left behind properties and beautiful children. Properties acquired through robberies; shedding of blood, pain to victims, ect. The children are feeding on the evils of their father. Only God knows their current state.

I can confidently state that some ancestors we pride in and make mention of are abomination to the Lord, because of their evil deeds. And so, as we stand before the throne of grace, we must present many years gone by to the Lord for forgiveness of sins and mercy.

The transference of sufferings from our ancestors to children is very trickery. Because the determination of consequences is a decision left in the spirit realms. A generation may escape a peculiar consequences which definitely shows up in another generation, but very devastating. All with the intent of hiding the truth of evil occurrences from each member of the family.

For you to know what actually is evil occurring in you family, put on spiritual objective lens and begin to write evils that occurred and occurring. If possible subtly ask aged members of some of the occurrences and you will know the curse associated with your family. You may discover breaks in marriages, sudden deaths, extreme poverty, strange diseases, low educational qualifications, drawers of water and hewer of woods syndrome, etc. Knowledge is power. Gideon had a leading to break the altar in his father's house.

If you have been born again, your soul is save. But the battle for deliverance is now. Daniel was righteous but was carried to Babylon as a slave. Nehemiah was righteous, but turned into a servant in a King's palace. Mordecai was righteous, but sat at the King's gate with other servants. Your salvation in Christ is not an automatic enrichment physically. When you know the truth, you will be set free.

May your spiritual walk with God set you apart for generational blessings. Shalom

Act 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

With a load of scriptural supports and benefits, christians are to see fasting and praying as an art of worship. As we give regular offerings to God, the same way should we set aside times for fasting and praying.

Every time we go into fasting and praying, God speaks and does wondrous things. Rev Brooks recounted an encounter that led to his host saying indeed, he [Brooks] is indeed of God. According to him, he visited Germany on assignment and that was after fasting and praying for God's protection and great ministry in that country. What happened was that the vehicle in which they were; three passengers, and driven by the host got involved in an "accident". His narration was that at a road junction, two cars drove into them. That instead of a collision resulting in fatalities, the vehicles passed through their vehicle. He said they all felt the motion for all three vehicles was constant, as the vehicle passed through each other and continued to their respective directions. The miracle was so intriguing as they shuddered at what happened. Yes, God is able to deliver, even in our wildest imaginations.

Over a decade ago, and in the police service, I was part of a group of police officers sent to the northern part of Ghana on peace mission. I woke up every dawn in the camp to pray and dedicated days for fasting. In a dream of the night I received a letter which I discerned to have come from the devil. In the letter, he said categorically that for 18 years, he blocked many blessing from me, but now under compulsion, to release. Even in an area of ethnic wars, I still found time to keep to my worship of God. I believe that was what led to the break on such a long bo***ge on my life.

In another testimony, I took up a time to fast and pray and in a dream, I saw one of my daughters electrocuted as she stood by our ironing board with the iron in her hand. After the revelation, I went to open the iron and to my amazement, one of the wires had come off from its holding and would have touched the the case of the iron and finally killed my daughter. That was the evil, planned by Satan to bring tears and sadness into my family, but for prayer and fasting.

When the apostle of the early church fasted and prayed, the ministry of Paul and Barnabas was made clear. So, this apostles were called for a particular work and it was only through fasting that the Holy Spirit spoke.

Your fast will surely uncover the gift of God for your life. Your fast will uncover the evil plans of Satan with remedies put in place by God to defeat them.

Be prepare to get into a fast, for God is about to do something in your life. That evil in the womb of time will be aborted by the Spirit of God. That hold-up in your progress will be lifted by the hand of God. Great testimonies will fill your mind as you fast. As I have shared mine, please let me know the great interventions that is about to happen to you. Shalom

Jon 3:7 And he caused [it] to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:

As earlier indicated, a Christian who does fast isn't a threat to the devil. Also, how can such a child of God make any meaningful spiritual impact?

The battle we fight, calls for constant fasting and prayer, because some situation will never change until you fast and pray to move the hand of God. Moses, Elijah, David, Nehemiah, Mordecai, Esther, to mention, but few fasted. The tradition must go on.

Today we are looking at the people of Nineveh. Even the carrier of the judgement message, Jonah fasted 3 days and nights in the belly of the fish before announcing God intended punishment on the city.

In previous postings, I enumerated some mediums through which a fast could be pronounced and in this case, a message was delivered by a prophet concerning the sins of Nineveh.

In most cases of Christian fast, our intentions were for breakthroughs; ie, visa, money, houses, lands, promotions, marriages,scholarships, jobs, etc. But not for forgiveness of heinous evils we have done. We pass confession stages to asking for breakthroughs. Is that not funny? Do we often see our fasting and prayer producing desired results? Today, some of our behaviours have surpassed the evils of S***m and Gomorrah and for which they were destroyed. We are sinful than Nineveh in those days and for which a prophet was sent.

The advice is to approach the throne room, asking for mercy with repentant heart. For Job did daily confess the sins of his children to God, saying they could have sinned in their activities. It does not mean that we daily confess our sins, but let us be washed in the blood as we stand before our God, during the times of our fast. Zechariah the prophet in a vision saw Joshua the high priest being resisted by Satan, who was standing at the right hand side of the high priest. The reason being that the high priest was wearing a filthy garment which attracted accusations from Satan. But God has to defend Joshua and remove his sins and that of his people from him. We can't achieve anything in our fasts if sin is clinging unto us. It makes the voice of Satan very powerful and against us.

Beginning the year with a fast is a way of telling the Lord Jesus that the battle is yours. May you take up the zeal to fast and pray for forgiveness of sins as you ready yourself for God to move on your behalf.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MEMBERS AND MINISTERS IN A CHURCH BY BISHOP TITI-OFEI

Every church has two groups of people - members and ministers. Here are the differences:

1. Members want their names written in the membership book of the church.

Ministers want their names written in the book of life.

2. Members ask, what can the church do for me?

Ministers ask, what can I do for the church?

3. Members want to be visited

Ministers want to visit other church members

5. Members want to be prayed for

Ministers want to pray for others

6. Members move from church to church and pastor to pastor.

Ministers are loyal. They believe in the calling and the anointing on their pastor

7. Members complain about problems in the church

Minsters solve problems in the church

8. Members want to be served

Ministers serve the Lord JESUS in their local church

9. Members do not win souls

Minsters win souls

10. Members want prophecies

Minsters want preaching

Pastors must commit themselves to the development of ministers through strategic discipleship. The process of developing disciples is tedious and slow but will eventually lead to qualitative church growth. It is better to have 100 congregation and get 90 to make heaven than to have 1000 congregation and get 100 to make heaven. It is even much more better to have 10,000 congregation and get 9, 000 to heaven. We need both qualitative and quantitative growth. The goal of every genuine pastor must be to get ready his congregation ready for heaven.

Preach about seeds but preach more about sin. Preach about prosperity but preach more about purity. Preach about building edifices but preach more about Evangelism.
