Today’s Scripture:Heb 8:6
Title: Which Pattern do you follow?

5 “They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”

Hebrews 8 explains why the covenant Jesus brings is better than those of the old covenant in Judaism.The word “copy” means imitation so the sacrifice then was an imitation of the true sacrifice of Christ and priest were also a imitation of the priesthood of Christ.The Old Testament worship was truly an indication of true worship.So Moses’ tabernacle was an imitation of the reality in heaven.The word “pattern” is the Greek word type. A type shows that there is something more than a model or the type itself. There is the reality that the model represents; Jesus went into the reality of what the type represented.Moses is instructed by God to follow a “pattern “to build the tabernacle ,the earthly sanctuary of Moses which represents the original of God’s sanctuary.Therefore ,a Biblical pattern is a spiritual model or example given for the purpose of imitation.An example is the life of Jesus which every believer must follow.
God never confuses the shadow/imitation with the original.The high priest operated in the shadows while Jesus in reality in the heavenly spheres.The Old Testament is an imitation of the New Testament Truth.The shadow/imitation is a weak copy of the original.
As we are in the season of Lent,the empty tomb is a pattern for the resurrection of every believer who dies in Christ. We should not mourn as others who have no hope because we have the hope of the resurrection at the second coming of Christ.A Biblical principle is a spiritual truth taught in Scripture. Patterns are an important part of our lives in many ways. When a contractor builds a house, he follows a pattern known as a blueprint. When a dress maker sews a dress for someone he/she follows a pattern. In each case there is a standard pattern to be followed to achieve the desired results. The pattern Christians have to follow is complete and sufficient. It is complete as it has "given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness" (2 Pet. 1:3). It is sufficient as it "is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works" (2 Tim. 3:16-17).
My fellow brothers and sisters in Christ what pattern are you following?Is it the pattern of Christ or of the world.

Psalms 140:4 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

Prayer points.
1. Every strongman delegated to hinder your/my progress, be paralyzed and die, in the name of Jesus. Amen
2. Cobwebs placed on my/yourlife, body parts, and property.business to render me/you poor, stale, and useless catch fire in the name of Jesus Christ .Amen
3. Any evil verdicts concerning my/your life,my children and family be overturned by the blood of Jesus. Amen
4.Every power assigned to turn my/your life upside down, fall and die now. Amen
5. Every completed work of the enemy in my/your life, be destroyed and let all the evil effects backfire, in the name of Jesus Christ.Amen.
6.Begin to thank God for answered prayer in Jesus’ name

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,…10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,….(Phil2:9-10)

POWERFUL! POWERFUL!And POWERFUL!! This simply means that if we trust in this scripture you have already been declared victorious over your enemies because anything fighting you has a name but there is a name above all these names.
PRAYER:
BEGIN TO THANK GOD FOR YOUR LIFE AND FAMILY,EVEN AS YOU GO BEFORE HIM FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF YOUR SINS.

And now,I pray in the name that is given above every other name in heaven,on earth and under the earth Jesus the Christ.That in his name everything that is fighting or troubling your life will have to bow and confess that Jesus is Lord because you’re victorious in the Lord.
•Every marine power will have to bow
•Every witchcraft power will have to bow
•Every Ocultic power will have to bow
•Every Spell and Charm will have to bow
•Every juju attack will have to bow
•Every sickness will have to bow
•Every evil eye will have to bow
•Every attack from evil trees will have to bow
•Every power from sacred waters fighting you will have to bow
•Physical manipulations against you will have to bow
•Spirit of envy eying your progress will have to bow
•Evil confessions from any man or woman, priest or priestess got to bow
•Every enchantment against you will have to bow
•Every spiritual satellite monitoring your progress and movement will have to bow

And now,I decree and declare that you are set free in Jesus’ name.May your destiny be fulfilled to the glory of the lord.Amen and Amen

Today’s Scripture:Isa 45:9
Title: Do Not Question God(Part 3)

There are people who are unhappy with their lives and ungrateful to God because they feel life has not been fair to them and to them it is the truth.But today,I have come to tell you that,God has good plans for you and I.In Jer 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
The problem some of us have as Christians is that,we think we know more than God and move ahead of Him instead of slowing God lead us.He created us for a purpose,to fulfill an assignment on his behalf to glorify his name.
Why do we sometimes go off the plan /track?
•Lack of FAITH
•We do not yield to Him wholeheartedly.
•Lack of PRAYER which open doors to the following :
•Evil manipulation due to the lack of prayer in our lives.
•Wrong association with people .
•Placing us in the wrong location.
•Getting involved with the wrong partners ,wrong jobs etc
Once this happens,one is completely displaced.We are out of God’s plan for our lives.Because in His plan he has the location where we will thrive/do well.
•Has in place for us,destiny helpers who will come along the way as we fall in place.
•He has in place who will be our life partner .
•The children we will have if he blesses the marriage with them.Also the purpose for giving us these children.
•He has in place for us who we will become in society, through which we will become a channel to serve his purpose for our lives,and to benefit society to the glory of His name.
•Even how long we will live.

I will conclude by saying that, there is a canker that has plagued some Christians and this canker is UNFORGIVENESS.This brakes our relationship with God.He is a forgiving God so why can’t we forgive?This allows the enemy to have a legal ground to manipulate and mislead us off the path God has chosen for us when we do not pray or pray with an unforgiving heart.Whatever our situation has been, there is always a lesson to be learned from the challenges we have been through so we can help others .
I hope that as we are led by the spirit we will surrender our lives to Christ wholeheartedly even as we ask for forgiveness for our disobedience so He will show as mercy.God molds and can remold us.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY !TODAY IS ASH WEDNESDAY !!

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE LENT :

The Christian season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, but how does that affect your Valentine's Day plans?

There are plenty of questions surrounding Ash Wednesday and Lent, especially for new Christians and non-believers.

What is Ash Wednesday? Is it OK to meat on Ash Wednesday?Christians commonly celebrate Ash Wednesday with ashes on their forehead and fasting to start the Lenten season, according to britannica.com.

The practice reminds Christians of human mortality and the importance of renewing our relationship with God.Ash Wednesday is supposed to be one observed with fasting with just one meal when one brakes the fast.The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from age 14 onwards. A summary of current practice: On Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all Fridays of Lent: Everyone of age 14 and up must abstain from consuming meat.

May the unconditional love of God meet us at the point of our need for love in the world and around us. And may we be the very best example of Christ-like love to those around us as we celebrate Val’s day in a holy way that will be pleasing to God.💞

I pray in the name of Jesus that this week, the heavens will open. Showers of blessing shall be released unto you. Mighty doors will open. Devine favour will locate you. You will enjoy good health. The wind around you will blow peace and comfort. You shall not be troubled. The ground you walk upon shall yield her increase. You shall break-forth and breakthrough, You will experience accelerated help that will take you to a new height in Jesus mighty name. Don’t stay home if you have strength, go out there and do something for yourself for God needs a channel to do his part. Amen.

Today’s Scripture:Isa 45:9
Title:The Clay And The Potter.Do Not Question God(Part 2)

“Woe to him who strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ Or shall your handiwork say, ‘He has no hands’?

This is a continuation of last week’s preaching on Isa 45:9 which used the clay and potter to describe the sovereignty of God and his creation.God being the potter and us being the clay to be molded.As indicated last week we are clay in the hands of God .He molds us for his plan and purpose .
The question I would ask is that:Do we see ourselves as clay in God’s hands?
The answer is yes and no.Yes in the sense that, there are believers who understand that,the purpose of God in their lives is to fulfill a divine assignment on earth on his behalf.This required God molding us to suit that purpose.On the other hand,there are other believers who agree they were created by God but they lead life according to their desire and not God’s purpose for their lives.The path is laid by themselves for their own desires.
Can the clay ask the potter why did you make me this way?
In the book of Romans 9:21 says “Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use?
If we agree that the clay can not question the potter,then the infinite creator has the authority to do with the clay what he pleases.Again in Jer18:4 The prophet emphasizes on the ability of God to mold and remold to his satisfaction.“And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.

Title: The Clay and The Potter. Do Not Question God (Part 1)

“Woe to him who strives with him who formed him, a pot among earthen pots!
Does the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making? ’or ‘Your work has no handles’?

We live in an era where a lot of things are going wrong in our nations, families, work places and as individuals. Sometimes we are tempted to ask God WHY?

Prophet Isaiah is one of the most well-known prophets in the Bible for his prediction of the coming of the Messiah, who would redeem His people from their sins. A book of stark contrasts, Isaiah juxtaposes terrifying warnings of judgement and destruction with uplifting promises of hope and prosperity. He gave this narrative using the clay and the potter to describe the sovereignty of God and the questionable nature of mankind.

What does clay symbolize in this context? The symbolism of clay can also portray ideas of renewal and reincarnation as clay can be infinitely recycled in its raw state by managing its moisture levels. This explains how the endless possibilities of clay and the capacity to start all over again, to be reborn. Jesus's resurrection is an example of this.

What does God say about clay? ”Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel……” (Jer 18:6)
This clearly indicates that God molds us in the way he wants to serve his purpose. He is the potter in this sense.

Today’s Scripture: Acts 9:4-11
Title: BAPTISM OF JESUS AND US

There is always something that qualifies a person to be part of a body/group, in Christianity, family, as a citizen, student, couple and even other religions.

Focusing on today’s topic, I will dwell on what qualifies one to become a Christian and of course a born again. To be a Christian one has to believe and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and savior confirmed by baptism. But that is not all which is why Paul had something to say to some disciples.

Paul when he got to Ephesus met some disciples and asked them if they have been baptized by the Holy Spirit after believing. But they had not heard of the Holy Spirit and baptism except the baptism of John. John the Baptist baptized with water for repentance that the peoples sins are forgiven. John emphasized that there will be someone who will come after him that he John is not even worth carrying his sandals (Mk 1:7) but he will not baptize with water but with the Holy Spirit. Why? Because the long awaited flame of the Holy Spirit will purify the soul and eventually remove all corruption from those who submit to the Son of David (Isa. 1:24–26)

Jesus went to John to be baptized. Why would a sinless man want to be baptized for sin? In fact, no ulterior motive is required. Jesus asked John to baptize Him simply as an act of obedience to God's purposes. God had given John the promise of a coming Messiah and the way to identify Him. Jesus fulfilled that promise. His baptism was simply the right thing at the right time: the last act of His private life.

During the baptism something happened. The heavens opened according to Mt 3:16-17.
16 When Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens opened. He saw the Spirit of God coming down and resting on Jesus like a dove. 17 A voice was heard from heaven. It said, “This is My much-loved Son. I am very happy with Him.”
This was the beginning of the ministry of Jesus Christ after which he performed his first miracle at a wedding in Canaan. As the heaven opened and the Holy Ghost rested on Jesus gave us access to connecting to the Holy Spirit.

What is then the difference between water baptism and Holy Ghost baptism. While water baptism confirms our faith in Christ, this is that we are also submerged in the water with Christ signifying His death and as He rose from the water we rose with Him from death. On the other hand, baptism of the Holy Spirit empowers us for the life and ministry that God calls us to. It is being filled with the Holy Spirit.
It’s also is a new chapter in a believer’s life as it ushers us into a deeper relationship with Christ.

In Ps 51:11 David’s fear is that the Holy Spirit could depart from him.
I pray in the name of Jesus that whatever will make the Holy Spirit not dwell with you be uprooted from your daily activities!

Today’s Scripture:JN 3:16
Title:He came for you

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

This narrative can be divided into two clauses.The first half says” For God so loved the world” this means that this clause is introducing the reason of the preceding vs15 which tells us how we should exalt God just as Moses lifted up the rod.In this context Christ will be lifted up on the cross by giving himself ransom on the cross for our sins.The second part says “ that he gave His ONLY begotten son” this means that God produces a one time action plan for having to love the world.There will not be a yearly sacrifice for the attornment of the sins of the people but a one time sacrifice through Christ who redeems us from sin.The promise that comes with this, is that,If we believe in His son ,we will not perish but have eternal life,we will have life after death.
Today is just a day to Christmas, a day we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.Today is a day of reflection on the purpose for which Christ died for you and I .
Beloved as we reflect on this,may we remember to live a life that will please God where ever we may find ourselves,in our homes,work places,in the church, at school and in our society at large.May we also commit ourselves to better our relationship with our maker each year as we make resolutions for the coming year to the glory of His name.
