POWER (11 - Break That Cage)

"And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?" (Luke 13:16 KJV)

Our text today reveals that satan binds people and although it is in the unseen realm, it manifests in the physical world. To bind is to restrain, confine, cage or limit.

Although she was a daughter of Abraham, she was bound. This means that as a child of God you can suffer affliction but this must not be so. Unless you know and keep your grounds or resist the devil, he will have the upperhand over your life. He will cause you to be confined, caged, limited, or restrained but as a covenant child of God, this must not happen, Hallelujah!

By the power in the name of Jesus christ, any cage or confinement you are in can be broken. Yes you can be loosed from the satanic binding. To be loosed is to be set free from restraint, confinement or limitation. Be loosed!

Peace to you!

POWER (10 - Who's On Your Side)

" Elisha answered, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”" (2 Kings 6:16 AMP)

Several years ago, I heard the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa preach, emphatically saying, "The reason you fear is because you know them that are against you, BUT THE DAY YOU KNOW WHO IS ON YOUR SIDE, YOU WILL FEAR NOTHING."

This is a deep truth revealed. Fear is always rooted in being OVERPOWERED by something or someone. Check what makes you fear or why you are afraid. You will realize that you are not afraid of things or people you can subdue. If threatened by such, you will very likely only laugh. But when you know you cannot overcome what is coming at you, you panic, yes, fear grips you. Fear is therefore centered on power.

The prophet Elisha was not afraid of the soldiers sent against him because he knew what power was on his side. The military power were no match for his heavenly army. He knew very well that they were surrounded who had surrounded him.

His servant was not aware of this so he was afraid. He saw what was stronger than he and his master. But when his eyes became opened to see the horses and chariots of fire on their side, the fear left him. Fear comes and goes based on what you have. It is always a case of who is on your side and who is against you; what you have and what is against you.

The powerful is never afraid of the weak and the less powerful is afraid of the more powerful. Igorance can subject you to fear when it should not be. That is why you must know what you have and confidently walk in it. If God is your habitation, you are fully secured. (Ps 91:9-13) If you know God is on your side like we looked at in the previous edition, you will fear nothing, whether man, devils or any diffucult situations. Stop the fear! Believe who is your side.

Peace to you!

POWER (9 - Divine Protection)

" For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her." (Zechariah 2:5 KJV)

One day Nabal's servants told Abigail that David and his men were a wall unto them both night and day so that they were neither hurt nor lost anything. Wall therefore symbolises Protection.

Now that was human protection but in our key text for today, we see God saying to Jerusalem that He will be a wall of fire round about them. This is Divine Protection, that is Protection by God. Protection is necessary for anything of value to keep it from theft, death or destruction. The wise priotizes Protection or defence. (Ecc 7:12a)

Satan once spoke in Job 1:10 of how God had made an hedge (covering, protection) about Job, his house and all that he had. This kept the devil from harming him. It was when the Lord removed this hedge that the enemy had access to afflict him.

Defence by men is good and you must take physical measures of safety but the best form of protection is spiritual which is only of God. Trust Him for His (Divine) protection of your life and everything you have. In God alone are we truly protected! Experience His wall of fire!

Peace to you!

POWER (8 - Jesus Still Heals)

""Jesus replied, “Yes, but I felt power surge through me. Someone touched me to be healed, and they received their healing?"" (Luke 8:46 TPT)

My definition of power is the ability (force) that makes or brings about a change. Power imposes its desires on the less powerful, thus subdues, dominates or brings them under. The desire of the powerful is fulfilled. Power therefore rules.

We have spiritual power, which is supernatural, mental power, financial power, medical power, political power, military power, physical (body) power, etc. But the highest form of power is the spiritual (unseen), it impacts the seen or tangible world.

When the woman with the issue of blood who had suffered that predicament for 12 years touched Jesus, power from Him consumed the agents of her ailment and instantly she was healed. The health situation which physicians with medical power couldn't cure was supernaturally dealt with. You can imagine her relief and excitement.

The power of God is still available today to heal you or anyone you want to stand in for or reach out to in the name of Jesus Christ!. Reach out to Him by faith like this woman and be healed!.

Peace to you!

POWER (7 - Effective Fasting)

"Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?" (Isaiah 58:6 KJV)

Effective Fasting comes through being thoughtful of others. As you deny yourself of the necessities and pleasures of life, it is important you reach out to meet the needs of others. Being mindful of others, that is living an unselfish life pleases God very much. It is such selfless life that makes your fasting fruitful.

The whole chapter of Is 58 teaches the fasting that pleases God and therefore produces desired results. The effective fast therefore is to THINK OF OTHERS as you fast. This means you reach out to people in their needs or afflictions.

You do not cause harm or bring pain to others, rather you relief people of such. You HELP people with their burdens. You GIVE to the poor, reach out to lost souls, encourage the weak and falling in the faith, strengthen others, feed the hungry, give dresses to those who have need, etc. JUST BE A BLESSING TO SOMEONE PHYSICALLY, SPIRITUALLY, OR BOTH.

Peace to you!

POWER (6 - The Place of Fasting)

"And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting." (Mark 9:29 KJV)

Like prayer, fasting is also a spiritual means of bringing power to bear on the physical world. The disciples of Jesus Christ having failed in an attempt to cast out a spirit which was tormenting a boy, asked Him why they couldn't do what He did. His response, which is our key text for today shows that there is a certain level of power through prayer but when combined with fasting, greater power is released.

Prayer and fasting is a deep spiritual exercise. Fasting is basically abstinence from food. In some instances, there is abstinence from water too but advisably NOT beyond three days. It is a humbling exercise.

Whilst fasting weakens the body, it strengthens the spirit and as humbling as it makes you, God's power is mightily revealed on your behalf. The physical and spiritual benefits of fasting are enormous.

When you fast, you become more alert spiritually. Fasting draws you more closely to God and quickens you in the gifts of the Holy Ghost. Your depth of spirituality increases through fasting and prayer.

King Jehoshaphat, Ezra, Esther and many more when faced with impossible situations, employed this effective spiritual tool of prayer with fasting and they were not disappointed. Your story will not be any different if you also Fast and Pray!

Peace to you!

POWER (5 - Power Through Prayer)

"Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him." (Acts 12:5 KJV)

Prayer is a means of exercising spiritual power to influence the physical world. We do this as individuals or collectively as a people. You can pray alone or together with other people.

In praying with other people, it can be in agreement on a specific matter or everyone praying individually on their own issues. As an individual, you pray for yourself or make intercession for others.

In prayer we have fellowship with God; talking and listenting to Him.
In prayer we embolden (charge, strengthen) our spirits.
In prayer, we also engage and subdue contrary spirits to God, which influence our physical world.

A prayerless Christian (follower of Christ) is a therefore a powerless Christian. A prayerless Christian, is a weak believer. A praying people are strong and powerful even when things do not always work out as they expect. A praying Church is a strong and powerful Church. A praying Christian is a victorious believer.

After Herod had killed James, he proceeded to imprison Peter, hoping to kill him too. But the Church gathered and prayed concerning this issue. God intervened and Peter came out miraculously. Herod's agenda failed because of prayer. Hallelujah! Activate God's power through praying. PRAY!

Peace to you!

ONE FOR MANY! (Final - One For All, All For One)

"And Christ did die for all of us. He died so we would no longer live for ourselves, but for the one who died and was raised to life for us." (2 Cor 5:15 CEV)

One person can sacrifice for many people and all the people can also live for that one person. There was once a battle between the Philistines and Israel where it was agreed that both armies bring out one warrior to represent them all in a contest. Whoever wins the fight determines the winner of the battle. David, representing Israel defeated Goliath, the champion of the Philistines hence they lost the battle. It was one for all.

When sportsmen and women enter into international competitions, they mostly represent their countries. In athletics, boxing, pole vault, football, high jump, etc., you will see one person or team representing many people from a country or a continent.

The people being represented also in return, give their support to the one standing in for them. This is one for all, all for one. If one person or team sacrifices for their country, the people also in return, show commitment to them.

Christ Jesus is like that athlete or team from your country who sacrifices to bring glory to you and the many people in that country. Jesus Christ died for us so that we shall be spared the penalty of Adam's sin. By one man (Adam), sin came into the world and by one man (Jesus Christ) came righteousness. (Rom 5:14-19)

As Jesus Christ has sacrificed his life for us, we must also commit to Him by living for Him. This means we must also love Him. The proof of our love for God is in obedience to His word. (Jn 14:21-23) Be a doer of God's Word! Live the Word!

Peace to you!
