TODAY’S WORD 28TH JULY 2026
WHAT IS IN YOUR HAND?
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
EXODUS 4:2 AMPC
“And the Lord said to him, What is that in your hand? And he said, a rod.”
TODAY’S WORD
In Exodus, God appeared to Moses to tell him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, but Moses did not believe he could do all God was asking him to do. God responded to Moses’ excuses by asking him, “What is that in your hand?” God did not ask Moses for something he did not own. He asked to use what was already with him. When Moses let go of the staff and trusted God, he did great miracles.
God is essentially saying, “Stop telling Me what you do not have and cannot do, and tell Me what you do have—what is in your hand?” Then God takes what Moses has—a rod (stick)—and fills it with His power.
God can use anything we are willing to offer Him. If He can use a stick, surely He can use you and me! Do not wait until you can figure out how to do it all on your own—let God infuse His power into you now and do whatever He asks of you through His strength.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father God, I confess I often look at what I have and feel empty or unequipped. Just as Moses held a simple staff, I lay down my everyday talents, my work, and my life into Your care. Take what is in my hand, breathe Your power upon it, and use it for Your glory to help those around me, in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
