EXCERPT FROM THE DISTRICT PASTOR'S ADMONITION ON THE EXPOSITION OF THE THEME: MAKING JESUS FAMOUS EVERYWHERE

πŸ“–Daniel 3:28-29, Acts 8:4-8, Mark 1:28,

What does it mean to make Jesus Famous?

It means to live, speak, and serve so that people become aware of who Jesus is and follow Him.
β€œHe must become greater; I must become less” John 3:30

It is our divine mandate to make Christ known: β€œGo and make disciples of all nations” Matthew 28:19. We represent Jesus by letting His light shine in this dark world.

β€œLet your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” Matthew 5:16

We are surrounded by different cultures, but that must not limit us or cause us to compromise our faith.

β€œDo not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” Romans 12:2

Hardship and persecution cannot stop us.
β€œThose who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went” Acts 8:4

Philip, even under persecution, made Jesus famous in Samaria. Grace has been given to us to project Him everywhere.
β€œNews about him spread quickly over the whole region” Mark 1:28

HOW TO MAKE JESUS FAMOUS

1. BY LIVING A HOLY LIFE
β€œBut just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do” 1 Peter 1:15
We must shun any lifestyle that does not imitate Christ. Modest living must be our hallmark.

2. THROUGH EVANGELISM
β€œHow can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?” Romans 10:14
We must reach out to dying souls. Evangelism makes Jesus known.

3. THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA
β€œWhatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus” Colossians 3:17
Cultivate the habit of sharing the Gospel. Your status, posts, and stories must project Christ.

4. THROUGH SERVICE, GIFTINGS, AND TALENTS
Daniel made God known in Babylon β€œNo other god can save in this way” Daniel 3:28-29. Philip made Christ known in Samaria with great joy Acts 8:4-8. Use your gifts to make Him famous.

In his final admonition, Pastor Sunday Sakabeng charged the youth to arise and live to make Jesus famous everywhere – through their character, preaching, and God-given gifts and talents. Like Daniel in Babylon and Philip in Samaria, we must make Jesus known!

The world must hear the gospel of Christ!

The Church of Pentecost, Afienya District (English Assembly), celebrated the grand climax of our Children's Ministry Week today, under the powerful theme: "Fully Equipped Children Unleashed To Reach Every Child Everywhere".

The Church of Pentecost, Afienya District (English Assembly), celebrated the grand climax of our Children's Ministry Week today, under the powerful theme: "Fully Equipped Children Unleashed To Reach Every Child Everywhere"
What a glorious celebration it was! Little voices lifted in praise, tiny hands clapping to the rhythm of worship, and hearts wide open to receive God's Word. From Bible lessons to drama presentations, recitations to praise and worship, our children showed us all what it truly means to be fully equipped and unleashed for the Kingdom.

Special thanks to our dedicated Sunday school teachers, ministry leaders, volunteers, and parents whose commitment made this week a success.

A powerful sermon by Ps. Sunday Sakagben

Every sacrifice in the Old Testament was pointing forward to one thing; the blood of Jesus.
That blood still speaks today:
βœ… It forgives your sins (Eph. 1:7; 1 John 1:9); don't let the devil haunt you with your past.
βœ… It protects and keeps you from danger (Exodus 12:13)
βœ… It redeems and delivers you from bo***ge (1 Peter 1:18-19)
βœ… It gives you access to God
βœ… It gives you victory over evil
βœ… It gives you eternal life

(Celebrating the Ministry of Pastor Augustus Akonu at Afienya District)

On this day 16th of August 2026, we gathered not in sorrow, but in gratitude β€” to celebrate a shepherd whose faithful service has left an indelible mark on our district.
Pastor Augustus Akonu has stood as a beacon of God's love, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the Gospel. Through seasons of joy and trial, he has poured himself into the flock β€” teaching with conviction, leading with humility, and loving with a heart after God's own.
His ministry reminds us that true leadership is not measured by title, but by transformation β€” lives touched, faith strengthened, and a community drawn closer to Christ. He has been a father to the fatherless, a counselor to the weary, and a faithful watchman over God's people.
As he transitions to a new chapter, we do not say goodbye β€” we say thank you. Thank you for the sermons that shaped our understanding of grace. Thank you for the prayers whispered over our families. Thank you for standing firm when it mattered most.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:23)
Pastor Akonu, your legacy lives on in every life you've touched, every soul you've nurtured, and every seed of faith you've planted. As you step into this new season, may God's favour go before you, His peace surrounds you, and His purpose guide you.

*WORK OUT YOUR SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING.*

Powerful word from today's service! Pastor Amanfo reminded us:
Without salvation, humanity is destined for ruin, moral decay, and total collapse. But in Christ, we are shielded from destruction, preserved from decay, and kept under His absolute divine protection.
He broke down what salvation truly preserves us from:
πŸ›‘οΈ Harm β€” behaviours that wound us physically and psychologically
πŸ›‘οΈ Decay β€” what has rotted and withered
πŸ›‘οΈ Collapse β€” what has crumbled and fallen apart
πŸ›‘οΈ Demolition β€” what has been deliberately destroyed
He was clear that salvation originates from God alone but cautioned that "once saved, always saved" isn't a biblical doctrine. Scripture calls us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12).
