*RECEIVING IN PRAYER*

*Mark 11: 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.*

*The one that has the responsibility to receive in the place of prayer is the one who is praying. Jesus makes that very clear.*

1st John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
Vs 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

God always hears us when we make our request, it’s in his hearing that we are confident that he gives that which we asked for. In prayer we don’t have a delay from God.

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Vs 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Vs 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

The asking should be in faith, same as what Jesus said- believe that you receive them.

God’s character is to give to all without finding fault, this means it is our responsibility to receive what has been given.

The receiving is by faith, a man that asks and stays in doubt cannot receive. This does not mean God has not given, rather we have to receive by faith.

Matthew 21:22 and all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

The believing is for receiving, when you ask, God gives, however we have to receive.

At salvation, God gave to us Jesus, we receive by faith by believing in His resurrection. So also, when we pray, we can only receive by faith.

*CONFESSION: I ask in faith to receive, I receive all that I ask.*

*PRAYER IS A CONSTANT*

*Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.*

Jesus instructed his disciples to pray always. The Epistles also give instructions about prayer.

Romans 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

The phrase continuing instant means to be constantly diligent. Thus the believer must be diligent with prayer.

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Paul said to pray always, making known your desires and requests to the Lord.

Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

Prayer should be the lifestyle of the believer, it should be daily because it’s a necessity. Jesus had this lifestyle and his disciples followed after the same lifestyle, even after his resurrection and ascension.

Acts 1:12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.
Vs 13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
Vs 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Prayer became their lifestyle, it is a constant, there is no point where prayer becomes invalid.

Acts 3:1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Acts 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

CONFESSION: Prayer is my lifestyle, I give myself continually in prayer, making my request known unto the father.
