OSU DEANERY SEPTEMBER CHARITY PROJECT
The Founders of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, technically founded the Society to take care of the poor. The very first name given to the Society was “Conference of Charity” echoing the original name by which they were known. The name Conference of Charity was later changed to be named after its Patron Saint, ‘St. Vincent de Paul.’ Members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul every year celebrate the Feast Day of their Patron Saint, (St. Vincent de Paul) to commemorate his good deeds of dedicating his entire life to the Poor.
Vincentians worldwide put together a series of Charity Activities to celebrate him in the month of September.
This year, through the generous donation from our Twinned Partners in Ireland to the National Council of Ghana, funds were disbursed to all the Deanery Councils to undertake a Charity project.
The Osu Deanery Council organized a Food Share Programme with internally generated funds and the donation received from Ireland. Two Hundred (200) Needy Persons and the homeless at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle – Accra were fed and presented with clothing.
The smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries were heart warming. It is the cherished hope and wish of the Deanery Council to touch more lives as we receive donations from the benevolence of Organizations, Corporate Bodies, Groups, Societies and Individual Philanthropists.
This is the third (3rd) Food Share project which has been organized by the Osu Deanery Council since the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Special appreciation to the Management of the Kwame Nkrumah Park, our benefactors and members of the Osu Deanery Council who made generous contributions and donations into making the event a success.
Together we can achieve more to minimize the poverty cycle.
PLEASE PARTNER US.
